Make sure that the sound device for the dual sense isn't disabled. I often disabled it beacuse my game audio would go through the controller.
Sounds > Playback > Dualsense (enable and i set levels to 100%)
I did also disable playstation support in Steam > Settings > Controller > Disable Playstation Controller Support.
Good Luck
Firmware is up-to-date, and the controller is connected with USB cable.
Vibration and adaptive triggers both work fine in other games (like Pacific Drive).
I'm on Linux.
Wish I had found this earlier so I didn’t have to go through all the trouble I did lol.
It did indeed end up being that I had disabled my Dualsense Edge from being an audio device.
Though I can only get it to work via a USB connection and not with the controller paired with Bluetooth.
Got vibration when I plugged into the game with the game open.
What I have is if anyone is having problems, these may be no necessary but doing all this and plugging the controller worked for me:
Steam -> PlayStation Controller (No)
Updated firmware of controller with Sony Accessories
Have controller audio and mic enabled on the audio settings (doesn't exist in bluetooth, that may be the problem)
Plugged controller with the game open
Other games work with just bluetooth. I think the cause may be indeed the audio settings not being available on bluetooth, for some reason. Hope this helps and hope Capcom fixes it, I hate playing plugged.
It sounds dumb that this would fix the issue, but it fixed it for me. I also previously had the speakers on the controller disabled. I enabled them and turned the volume to 100 in the sound settings and as soon as I started the game up, I have vibration.
I haven't tested the other functions like the AT in the map, but I was previously getting those even when I had no vibration, so I assume they will work.
Also kinda fixed with this solution. I am on linux. I left option in controller setting on enable and it still worked. I used qpwgraph and connected Wilds node with Dualsense node(playback) I think game forces haptics and disables rumble on DS.
EDIT: I found out some more about Dualsense's haptic tech. It uses audio channels on your pc to send haptics. When plugged in, it should install a new sound device on your PC. Open up your sound control panel and see if you have a "Speakers Dualsense Wireless Controller". Make sure it is enabled, has volume at 100, and importantly, open its properties, go to advanced, and turn exclusive mode off. If anything else is accessing the audio channel, Monster Hunter Wilds cannot take control and send audio (which is haptics in this case) to your controller.
i think it will be patched later !
