To the Devs: Lack of difficulty concerns
Many in my friend groups are long time MH fans.
There is a concern among us that this title will be too easy, too casual.
I know the game hasn't fully released yet, but please remember that a part of the love for the franchise came from previous titles with their difficulties and lack of QoL.

I used to play classic WoW. One of the greatest things for community building was it's lack of QoL.
Give us some jank, give us difficulty that requires us to truly learn and master the game, and give us an environment that encourages community building to overcome the challenges you, the Devs, present to us.

I hope to enjoy this title, and I hope that you listen to our feedback and make this the greatest MH experience yet.

It's a LR/HR title, it's going to be easy. If youre also a long time player, it's going to be easy. You should know this.

They say that they are adding "two monsters, above the level of tempered" in April...

Glad that they're already talking about plans to release harder monsters. With how strong focus mode is, I think this will probably be one of the easiest monster hunter titles to get into for new players, and incredibly easy for veterans.

It's going to be like every other game, the difficulty will likely ramp up when we get an Iceborn-like expansion with Master rank.

If it end up being too easy I'm just going to mod it like I always do but yea from everything I've been watching and hearing it's apparently easier than base World and base Rise at launch.

The endgame content is for us, I hope capcom dont forget that. The 20 hours gameplay are for those that will unistall the game as soons as the credits roll up.

do anyone honestly believe it will be purely LR/HR basically a long tutorial mode?
ofc not, we ll eventually get harder difficulties. you dont serve desert before main course.
world was comparable to dark souls in difficulty for me when playing through it solo. iceborne felt harder than dark souls. if this game is considerably easier i am not gonna buy it.

That goes without saying... BUT, mods take months to manifest; and if there are any DRM related issues, modding gameplay may be tricky.

For example, it could well even end up being a case where gameplay related mods are offline only (if the game is even playable in true offline mode); which will severely handicap such a co-op-centric experience -- would you play alone with bots, just to imbue some challenge? That, and even if the game does end up as moddable as World (unlikely), all the patches and updates that will inevitably be thrown at a game in the first two years, will probably stymie modding [gameplay] for some time.

TL;DR version:
Unless all that you are concerned with are coomer skins and perhaps some HUD related QoL tweaks, do not bank on modding to save the day this time 'round ⚠️

Not if it's a simple mod increase health and damage the monsters do hell I've done and made those exact type of mods for myself before it's not to hard.

And the online stuff doesn't bother me because I'll only be playing with 1 or 2 guys on the weekends any other time is solo for me.

I meant more in terms of the integrity of the files, re. how the game reconciles with Capcom servers. In World, it was client side; which allowed one to mod their own equipment, without it affecting the other team members -- i. e., you could do different damage than a player on your team, sporting identical set-up could do. In Wilds, I get the sneaky suspicion that that will no longer be possible (see: kernel level anti-cheat), because Capcom likely saw the "Chinese players" one-shotting monsters in the predecessor title (I encountered this multiple times, and didn't even play so much with randoms), and have gone out of their way to put the kibosh on this practice. So, the point I'm making here is that it simply might not be possible this time, without going 100% offline...

Well, again, you'll still have to be online to play co-op (the game doesn't have LAN functionality); unless someone makes a "Seamless Co-op" style mod for the game (not likely).

We'll see shortly, as the World modding community was large, and they'll be hacking the files as soon as they get their hands on the game... But, I just get the feeling that putting all one's egg$ into the modding basket, might not be the best bet this time.

Monster Hunter is about learning to streamline the quest through knowledge and skill its why the repetitive nature of the game works, if the game hook is already streamlined then your concerns are legit.
