Probably cause thats the preload size, which I didnt download cause unpacking would take longer than downloading for me.

Possibly, I dont think my rig is an NVME so it can take longer than just downloading it. My speeds are more than enough that I'll get to play in like 20 minutes after downloads open up.

When you download the game it still cached to the steam download cache, and from there while downloading more data unpacked and written tot he game fodler.

You are not avoiding anything by not preloading

Easiest response I have, is I have an easier time accepting the wait for a download than an unpack. Its silly I know, but its something I know about myself.
