Stop saying that the game is easy -- it's "SHOCKINGLY EASY"
Perhaps the 'interesting' revelation in my time with Monster Hunter Wilds, and that is that the game was SHOCKING EASY [...] I'm not good at these games; I'm not talented [...] and even so, I found this game to be SHOCKINGLY STRAIGHT-FOWARD AND EASY [...]

I have played 78-ish hours of Monster Hunter Wilds: I have not failed a quest; I have not been downed or fainted three times, within a single mission; and my average completion time, with optional hunts, at High Rank, has been under 15 minutes [...] I don't know what the deal is... I just found this game to be SHOCKINGLY EASY AND STRAIGHT-FOWARD.

On the 'plus' side, the game is filled with mawkish cut-scenes of straight-to-video, over-acted dialogue 👌😏

Its when the Events start to spring up that difficulty starts to go up.
And then the eventual expansion, which changes *everything*
Then you dont play Monster Hunter Unite ;-)

What would make me chuckle is if the Day 1 patch increases the difficulty to 'normal' and the review copy was set to 'Journalist' mode.

No Monster Hunter Base was EVER hard. I literally finished Rise without a SINGLE death until Sunbreak released.

Worlds, I admit, I got sometimes chased down by some odd rage encounters, but I wouldnt remember anything being HARD.

The only thing that takes long is to get a Rathalos Plate etc. for an upgrade, when you have to repeat the same mission 20 times. But HARD? Nah, before G-Rank Endgame, nothing ever was hard.

Rise and Worlds are ease because they make easies games for wokie xD

Just play Unite and then we talk ;-) You dont see how mush damage you done, monsters are more agressive, no skills or anything. Just you and weapon vs monster.

I have over 9000 hours in mhfu alone, i can confirm, its not as hard as people remember. Most of its difficulty is the jank.

People expecting to face tank everything, they will get 2 shoted and carted left and right. Note this down.

Freedom Unite? was my first MH. Easy. Made me fall in love with MH. Easy game. Just more clunky.

I was so glad when we left MH Generations behind and went to Worlds, when the game finally stopped being clunky and entered the era of quality of life features. I really do NOT miss carrying eggs for the first 4 hours of gametime , getting new bug nets and pickaxes to collect 8 iron per map.

honestly. people said that base kirin was hard in world... i curb stomp them. i curb stomp half of master rank in world. i also curb alot of frontier. yet doshaguma has its own difficulty, namely the tremor affect on a certain attack pre one shot kill and the radius of attacks with the damage. or balaharra attacking in very unorthodox ways. the game will be fine. congrats. you all got really good. need proof? play the older games. go do world and iceborne naked. you most certainly can now. the issue with gaining skill in a game is it bleeds the life from it. you seek ever greater challenge because you lose the ability to gauge exactly how far you've come.

i once had a time anjanath deleted me constantly. now i solo it in minutes nude without claw or wall banging. the same way dosh doggie is gonna delete new players in wilds. or arkveld being a brick wall for newbies. besides. master rank isnt out yet for wilds. use this time to get cosmetics and relax. When alatreon 5000x archtempered escaton on every 5 seconds is released we will be yeeted back into being a screeching child as we are curbed once more. Let the devs cook the same way they did to feedback on weapon balance

yea the jank of the older generations are the main cause of a lot of the "difficulty" but in the long run here is how i feel the series progression has actually been.

Low rank has been getting easier, which is good, it brings in players.

High rank has mostly been the same, excluding 3rd gen and Rise, which had some of the easiest high ranks in the series, and then both gen 3 and rise turned it around in g rank.

G rank has been actually scaling upwards.
MHG, MHF, MHFU have the easiest G Rank in the series.

MH3U, MHGU, MHW:I and MHR:S are all about equal with their G Rank with slight variations. Id say out of this tier, Sunbreak has a slight edge over the others, not much.

MH4U G rank is the current outlier, its quite a bit harder than the rest.

I think Fatalis in MHW is still crazy hard. I really need to lock in to beat it. MOst people will never beat Fatalis, ever. I think the scaling of new games is totally fine.

For me he was kinda easy, but that's mainly because its a more on rail fight that was supposed to be cinematic, and when patterns are built around being cinematic, they tend to be easier for me to adapt to.
Alatreon, even with out escaton (♥♥♥♥ escaton), was more of a challenge for me. I was able to beat with a raw GS while taking a single cart because of escaton.

YOu havnt played any older MH games so quit talking.
I have, and I say he's right. Seikret is too free. With the Palamute you could still get hit with bad positioning and your doggo couldn't pull you up from the ground. Seikret gets too many auto-dodges and is far too much of a "get out of jail free" card.
There's also nothing like this in older gen.

Game became easy in Freedom Unite. Back in Monster Hunter Freedom 2 it was you versus the monster on your PSP. No annoying cat to distract it off of you. Real 1v1.

I swear that the Unite fanboys are the worst in that fanbase.
Bad hitboxes, massive amount of tedium. That's how you resume Unite. I know, I own it. I played it. Dropped it because I can't stand pointless tedium.
In fact old school MH as much as I adore it, in general has pointless amounts of tedium.
You want to get a specific fish? Cool no problem, go and figure out where exactly they are by your own self, oh and better make sure you go in the right mission for it and not an 'expedition', otherwise you'll waste your time lolxd.
Breakable pickaxe and tools absolutely added nothing of value to the game, only made it more of a time waster.
The heal flexing animation was charming and funny, but really made zero sense and only made it punitive to use for no good reason other than 'lel it makes it harder'.

While World and Rise have flaws, i'd rather have the great quality of life they brought to the table then have to endure insane tedium.

With that said, old school MH had better monsters in general, armor and weapons that looked a LOT better. Looking at you World with your atrocious weapon skins.. ugh.

Point is, old school MH was artificially hard, due to tedium and abhorrent drop rates.
