Screenshot it. If it's unscheduled, and you're trying to drag it to the top and getting that error, it's done Fam.
Otherwise, I'd need to see it. Disc read could be a number of memes.
12.2/64.3 GB in the download section and the MonsterHunterWilds folder on my SSD is empty.
correct in steamapps common monsterhunterwilds its empty until launch
the files are now all in steamapps depotcache and my folder is filling 56,8 GB
uhm stupid question but how much SSD free space do you have BEFORE attempting to download monster hunter wilds? i dont know exactly how preloading uses the cached files, but just to be sure, was it more than 120 gigs free?
Gotcha. I went and checked. 56.8 in folder.
The Steam UI is just *weird and confusing* I guess?
I have a couple TBs free. I barely use that drive.
No such thing as a silly question!
Usually you want to leave about a hundred gigs free after installs. Think of the cache as a temporary storage, that's then decrypted, or completed or what have you, then pushed to the correct directory after. Same with downloading games normally.
yeah i was remembering something where i had to have double the space of the actual install / download otherwise it couldnt finish. dont know what it was tho, hence the question.
but i guess we figured it out, so everything is downloaded for OP probably, and ready to encrypt on launch.
happy hunting.
