game still crashing/locking up entire pc since march 10th patch. has happened while running around in the world/on missions 2-3 times, has happened while in my tent messing with decos or armor 2 times. which is the total number of times I've tried to play since this patch because crashing my entire pc is very not okay.
Game crashing one of two ways.
Total system lockup and shutdown if in any kind of menu (Happened in save selection, tent, and armor crafting)
Or Both the game and steam simply terminating process simultaneously. This happens if exploring or hunting.
No error log present in game files, minidump file confirms CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT.
12th gen Intel CPU and Dual Sense Edge.
Issue started after the patch on the 10th.
For my case, my steam crashed and closed, but Mhwilds not close but just screen freeze..
When I booted the game, any rock surface would not render. The opening scene in the room with the table, window, door, nothing rendered but those. In the camp, none of the tents.
This might be covered somewhere in the forum but will add it anyways.
I went to where the steam application launcher file is saved in the PC, right click, properties, disable compatibility mode (it was selected for some reason, never knew). Set to run as admin, as well as changing to run as admin that for the MH game launcher file.
When I load steam, it now seems to think it is in compatibility mode and gives a warning, I double checked, it is not. So I ignored the warning from steam.
Now everything renders fine.
Rebooted PC , getting over 60fps on ultra graphics (running ultra graphics drastically improved frames after above changed). I made a few other small changes, such as no ray tracing, and now it is smooth, no polygons, everything renders, and the odd FPS drop but nothing that really affects my experience.
After doing this, I booted up a few other graphics intensive games, frames have improved.
I hope this works for anyone having similar issues and that it wasn't just an random fix for me!
As an additional note, no rocks rendered in the benchmark before launch, but never knew it, thought the characters were walking on the air as a part of 'see more test more' type of thing. Went back and ran the benchmark, everything better and scored higher.
... ... ...
Currently, when using a Bluetooth controller, the Steam client itself will terminate along with the MH Wilds within 5-10 minutes of play. At other times, the game itself will freeze and be stuck with no other solution other than ending the instance of the game through my Windows Task Manager. It seems to terminate or freeze more often when trying to communicate with the server; I have also had it crash when I try to manually save.
I played with no issues before the March 10 update on High to Ultra settings. Please introduce a fix because it is incredibly frustrating to make any sort of progress when your game crashes every 5 minutes at no fault of your own.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER

Had no issues with the game until the latest update, Now the game is hard crashing after about 20-30 minutes of gameplay, with no obvious cause (one crash was mid hunt, another was during the transition while warping to camp). rather worryingly the PC was still Blue screening a couple times after the initial BSOD before being able to get it to boot again, had to go into safe mode to stop the boot loop
Ran WhoCrashed and got the following details for some of the crashes:

not tried much outside of verifying file integrity, but i was able to run the game for 12 hours straight on the previous update, so i'm putting this down to a bad update. Any suggestions appreciated.
The game keeps crashing and blue screen (clock CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT) since the 10/3 update
