I used lance in world but ditched it in rise. From what ive seen for wilds it has some cool upgrades so I'll be using it alongside GS

Also depending of if its built like world or like rise, the light bowgun in rise is the most op, easy to use free victory weapon in the game. If it plays like rise and you want to steamroll something without getting hit give it a go

hammer. bonk. spin.

charge blade grew on me a lot as i learned it, the timing of spinning into an attack that does damage while negating the enemy, the combos, the high stopping power, it just drew my attention much like GS did

SnS is seen as a beginner weapon, and it very much is, but has a very nice satisfaction to mastering it, it's very fun.

Gunlance is also a fun and satisfying to master, wilds sound design is great so hearing the reloads during combos is satisfying to an extreme degree.

The new Lance combos along with perfect block counters sounds rad. HBG for secondary or if playing with a Melee heavy party.

I usually bounce between insect glaive, bow, and the bowguns. I rarely touch anything else besides greatsword and sometimes hunting horn since I play with friends sometimes and the buffs can be helpful.

Switch Axe. There are definitely other mechanically satisfying weapons but Switch Axe always feels like coming home, even though tri was my second game.

This might change your mind on wanting to switch weapons, GS completely new play style, counter god.

Well it Really depends on how you like to approach fighting the monster and what part of a weapon you find the most satisfying! If it is the Big OOOOMPH hits of Great sword that you enjoy I would suggest trying Gunlance and or Charged blade. charged blade takes a lot of work and dedication, but when it lines up it feels pretty sexy. Gun lance Has some defense a bit more than GS guard but you also have a mix of quick pokes and taking your time to explode things!

I have to mention lance as it's been my main for decades now. It's really nice if you enjoy pressing a lot of buttons. Once you start the fight you just hug tightly and stab using counters to buff and increase dmg so when you master their move set it's just start to finish attacking and can feel amazing when you flawless a monster. A previous comment said they left lance at rise, but gosh it felt pretty strong there to me.

Now just for some variety. Dual blades are as opposite as you can get. Still DPS but you all speed rapid hit low range vs slow big hitter with reach. Insect Glaive just to see what the fight looks like from the sky.

Yeah I saw it, also tried it myself on the beta, it does feel pretty good, but for some reason I didn't really get that satisfying feeling anymore when landing my TCS like I did in World, I don't know what it is, I thought maybe GS isn't doing it for me anymore, so I started thinking of trying a different weapon.

Hm, you make Lance sound pretty interesting tbh, it wasnt on my radar at all but now it is, I really am looking for something that once I master it, it just feels really good, lance might be something that can do that from the way you describe it, I mgiht have to try it out.

Use focus mode and destroy more than 2 wounds at once, which are only ways for you to feel more satisfied. GS offset attack is also satisfying, but yeah, it requires more of your effort.

once mastered charge blade is fantastic. in rise ill be honest it turned into a one trick pony as many weapons did, however with the changes it has to wilds i think its going to be the most fun weapon once you get the various ways to play it down. if counter saed spam (playstyle in rise) is your thing it wont be very much fun in wilds.

that or ofc hammer is always a bonking good time
