Gunlance is also a fun and satisfying to master, wilds sound design is great so hearing the reloads during combos is satisfying to an extreme degree.
This might change your mind on wanting to switch weapons, GS completely new play style, counter god.
I have to mention lance as it's been my main for decades now. It's really nice if you enjoy pressing a lot of buttons. Once you start the fight you just hug tightly and stab using counters to buff and increase dmg so when you master their move set it's just start to finish attacking and can feel amazing when you flawless a monster. A previous comment said they left lance at rise, but gosh it felt pretty strong there to me.
Now just for some variety. Dual blades are as opposite as you can get. Still DPS but you all speed rapid hit low range vs slow big hitter with reach. Insect Glaive just to see what the fight looks like from the sky.
Use focus mode and destroy more than 2 wounds at once, which are only ways for you to feel more satisfied. GS offset attack is also satisfying, but yeah, it requires more of your effort.
that or ofc hammer is always a bonking good time
