Am I the only Veteran that will wait for the Master Rank DLC to play?
As title says, for me Low Rank and High Rank is not really where the game play is at, I need Master Rank to have some challenge or I fall asleep.

Not to forget they probably need some time to work on the performance, not to forget balance changes and patch monsters. With Monster Hunter it really pays off to wait some to dive in, or you need to wait later when you are in the midst of it, lol.

I am going to hunt, grind, farm, forage, loot, and explore every inch of the map.
I will grow my stash of supplies to ungodly levels.
I will make every Greatsword in the game
And I will lend a hand to new hunters in the series to help them overcome a hunt they may be struggling with.
You forgot to mention crown hunting, that's definitely the most autistic thing you can do.
You're gonna be waiting over a year, man

Honestly? I commend you OP.
That's already more principled than the other veterans I've seen just complain about it while still ready to eat the game raw on launch with a big spoon.
I'm gonna play tf outta this game now, and when the dlc when released.
i mean you could wait but it really wont make much sense to being you have to progress though the lower ranks first anyway. but you can do what you feel is better for you just dont be like the people who complain about not being able to do high rank content asap because they haven't finished the low rank stuff yet. iv seen those types around in the steam forums.

Well the first thing is there is nothing wrong with waiting on a game release! How much FOMO is shoved around! If you proactively watch the MH Wilds news so you can still hop in with peak numbers in case you want to roll with people there isn't anything wrong in the choice.

I want to tell you the obvious bit about missing out on gear and gathering to set yourself up, but honestly I don't believe it anymore. I just ran Rise DLC finished it yesterday while waiting on Wilds and they just give you everything. Iceborne had that weird furnace game thing too for supplies and you know defender armour will drop. That being said I can't imagine being excited for Master Rank after buying and grinding up low than High and then just getting there. You might be made of sterner stuff.

Lastly if you looking just to add the grind back in to the series may I suggest elemental weapons for a change? You have to farm for each element and at least research the mobs a little kinda force some of that old MH spice back in.

I don't expect the games challenge and skill ceiling to get real until the DLC either, but I am a MH fan and I know the game is going to blow up (with many positive and negative interpretations) so I am just in it to be a part of that collective journey at launch. I can't lie, even being a first hand witness to the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was an experience for the mental archives. Feels like less of a losing situation when you look at it that way.

I am just looking forward to seeing the game at one of its liveliest points, even if it kills the servers. Nothing makes a game feel fresh quite like entering a crowded social hub on launch day and knowing that every last person you encounter started at the same beginning point somewhere in the last 24 hours.

No I wouldn't wait till the expansion just in case they add something new that also changes the base game like you can no longer go back and play World like it was at launch without the clutch-claw.
MHRise base game was TERRIBLE, so that expecting DLC for proper content gives the devs completely a wrong signal.

It's the genuinely smart decision. Wait for the expansion / title updates and then play it. You only get one first time experience and if it's anything like previous games there'll be new mechanics that weren't in the base game that you'll be able to utilize from the start.

Also will likely come with a sale.

What's a monhun veteran? Someone who pretend to play monster hunter?
Rexon Feb 25 @ 7:15pm
i salute you if you can really actually wait for another 1+ year

I'm not going to refund my preorder but...

If I don't find the tempered monster grind to be fun then yeah, I'll probably shelve the game until something actually difficult comes out.

And if all the launch content is actually super easy? Then I'm done buying MH games at launch.

I'll just buy them when they're 50% off or whatever. Oh well. I thought maybe MH might escape being sacrificed at the corporate altar but here we are.

Maybe some day they'll release another game in the "Generations" series for those of us who are tired of seeing difficulty sacrificed for the sake of accessibility. Hell I'd even take a PC collection containing all the games that are locked inside Nintendo's walled garden. Man that would be nice.
