Forget the drama and trolls — tell me about your Palico

Do you make the same one every time through the games? Is it based on your own cat?

I'm not a cat owner myself, but my Palico has always been named Bullet since like 4U or Gen because it was a randomly generated name and I thought it was cool. Ever since Iceborne I've given him the spotted pattern and long pointy ears, with sandy brown fur and dark reddish brown spots/tips/etc. He has golden/orange eyes with the narrow cat-like pupils. I can't ever have a palico that isn't him. I'd share a screenshot but I don't have any on Steam.

So what's yours going to be like in Wilds?

My palico is colored as my childhood cat Kondei which was a prominent rat catcher. But in-game avatar is named after the demon in "Master and Margarita" book because the name is well-aligned with the game: Behemoth

I always change the appearance every game on how i feel right now, but the name has always stayed the same

My Palico is always named Kayamba since Tri Ultimate was my first game and I loved those two little Shakalakas since then :)

That's sad, but I understand why. I think it's easier to name it after a lost pet rather than lose the pet it's based on.

I was originally going to make my cat Sulley for my first play through, but after messing around with the character creator I ended up making myself pretty accurately.

So I'm going to save that him for when I make a play through as myself and instead I made Sprigatito :)

My palico name is Ginger-Arc he orange brown and white, he a war vet

So, I dunno what to name my fluffy baby this time. Since they can now talk, I find it's a little more important to make them look lively. In the beta I just made a bright hot pink Palico but in the true game. <.< Must be better!
In Worlds I did a blue tabby named Lazuli. It /KILLED ME/ when my Palico ran to the dumb handler he just met! Really hoping it doesn't happen again.

In Worlds I named my Palico after my big white cat I had at the time named "Frosty". He passed away between Worlds release and Iceborne, and while I was sad when I first played Iceborne, it still felt like he a bit of his spirit was playing with me..

I'm likely going to do something similar this time around. I don't think I'll recreate Frosty (he's at home now in Seliana), but I have a few current cats I can use, I just have to decide which one. My friendly grey tiger Buddy, my pretty calico cat named Patches, or my black ornery cat named Salem?

I try to make it look as similar to my real cat as possible with the same name. Thankfully she's got a pretty common fur color and pattern that makes it easy to replicate
