so take it with a grain of salt.
Rise has an easy Low Rank.
World has an easy Low Rank.
Gen U Has an easy Low Rank.
Its about midway through High Rank and the after fights that things start picking up. If World was your first Monster Hunter, and you're expecting to have the same challenges in Low Rank while still learning the basics of the game...then you're going to be disappointed. Once you have the baseline knowledge then early game is pretty brain dead easy.
Which is why Many long time players of Monster Hunter pick a new weapon to play through Low Rank, then they have something to learn and challenge themselves.
I could still be proven wrong, maybe this game is massively easier than World.
They've said this about every monster hunter. Go look at what people were saying about them. MH 3, world, rise, generations... They all got the same "these games are too easy now" feed back from people who have already learned how to play monster hunter.
Your first one is always the hardest. I'm sure there's objectively harder/easier ones but it's WAY more skewed by experience than it is actual mechanics. The same thing happens with darksouls - if 3 was your first, 1 seems like a joke. If 1 was your first, 3 was a joke. It's just how these games work.

13 years ago, same bit lol
Thats honestly, really sad that its predictable.
same thing happened with dark souls, everyone always said the sequel of the last one was "too easy" cause they got used to its style lol.
Every single time a newer version comes out, it's always "too easy"
Do people ever think that yes, each one after the first one you played is going to be "easier" for you because you're that much more familiar and experienced with all the mechanics?
Edit- dude above me beat me to it haha
Take my points lol
Seems like we've both been around the block a few times LOL
Now here is the deal. Monster Hunter Rise and it's DLC definitely raised the power ceiling. Two pets two followers and super moves. Iceborne also added the Clutch claw. Track record currently shows they are sliming down prep time and boosting player base power. Now as a ray of hope I legit just ran thru Rise waiting for Wilds and the DLC at the end got more challenging. Primordial Malz straight gear checked me and the anomaly hunts for at least the powerful monsters made me pay attention.
SO! My first thought is obviously try the beta! There are a few monsters to hunt and you can judge if it is too easy for you. Lightning McChains carted me nearly twice. I personally also just had fun experiencing new movesets as lance I need to know when to counter and when to pile drive my shield into the dirt ya know?
My second thought is my plan for this game. Pick up a completely new weapon. You may think it won't change much, but it really does. Currently i'm struggling to choose a new weapon as I just see Lance as the best and perfect and everything else seems to have strings attached. Lance I hug the face and bash poke counter. That's it me and the mob's moveset. Everything else has so many side things to pay attention to. Ammo, gauges to charge, I legit do not think I can land a hit with a great sword. It takes so long to swing i'm just getting slapped. Demon mode seems to come with a crippling dash juice addiction. Ranged costs money or time for bullets. Not to mention learning to dodge instead of just ignoring. Open to idea's, but my point being when you have openings, where you stand and what attacks threaten you at the tail/head/side? Or if you are SUPER CRAZY. I mean if you just have to get the most outta this game. Go elemental. Those people are crazy. One weapon per element is bad enough, but decorations and armour as well? No thank you. I am weak.
Now we have a baked in "baby mode" (focus) that tells you where to hit, and let's you swing your great sword around with dual blade accuracy..
I highly recommend emulating MH 4U or gen ultimate on pc. You can find a copy cheap on ebay or amazon. Either of those games are a 2000+ hour experience and HARD (in comparison to westernized MH)
