Capcom and their streamlining efforts
What used to be a cup of coffee crafted by an artisan is now the Mcdonald's cup of cocoa. I can't deny that this strategy will end up being prolific in wilds considering how well world and rise did but I thought they would add a bit more complexity to the series instead of shaving off the meat most of us enjoyed and replacing it with a plot that is going to be generic and monsters that are absolutely incapable of dealing with the hunter.

TL;DR the reviews are out and if you have half of a working brain and manage to read between the lines then you'll notice that this is the most streamlined mh game in the series

since op doesn't bother actually explaining why this game is full of crap i'll go
>focus mode basically removes the need to aim/position correctly for the best hitzones, i.e. scrub crutch
>weapons are lacking in hitstop (a few frames in which the game "freezes" to give momentum to the hits), making them feel terrible compared to the previous games
>monsters are reportedly easy as hell, with even game journalists (go check ign's review) claiming they barely struggled finishing the game
>hubs are completely gone. now people just sit in their own server (like in world) and have to either join sos flares or ask people in the serv if they want to hunt with them (objectively inferior design choice to the past games' 4 man dedicated rooms)
>the environements look simply awful, no running around that. even world looked nicer, let alone anything before it. most places in this game look like a terrible, undefined gray mess
>according to leaks only 29 monsters will be in base game, LOWER than world, and one of the series' lowest. doesn't help some monsters have also been sidelined to title updates
>game directors now place effort on an unnecessary story that eats as much playtime as gathering in old games was supposed to take, except you won't be playing at your own pace and be forced to watch the cutscene/walking section
>terrible performance and unnecessarily high requirements all around, nowhere as optimized as world is

even if you enjoyed world (which i did mostly), you can't not admit the series is looking bad now with these changes.
and for people that prefer the new combat changes over the past ones; mon hun was always meant to have it's own unique combat, slow and heavy but focused on positioning and maximizing damage, with well crafted movesets each with their own quirks, and many layers of abilities and mastery of the weapons that make the difference
if you want mon hun to be simpler, they made soulslikes just for you

What "meat" was shaved off exactly?

what specific "streamlining" feature are you talking about?

so you have no actual examples to provide, your just complaining about a vague shapeless issue you cannot put into words?

Yup and that's a good thing, focus shifted away from what is in general more of a time waster than actual gameplay and shifted more onto getting people set up to hunt and do the actual monster hunter stuff, while still keeping gathering and such, just making it less of a tedium

Some reviewers dont like that you arent forced to pointlessly grind for hours to get gear that allows you to grind for hours to get other that...

thats never really was the case in the early game, is the thing, you could always generally just like, fight monster->get one upgrade->go fight next one->repeat to end game with no grinding, thats how i made my way to G rank in gen ulti and beyond myself lol.

it only really became a time to grind when you needed multiple of the same piece for an endgame set, to get max affinity or w/e skills you're after.

Are you telling me that you are incapable of reading or watching a review? Why would I waste my time with such an individual? Rhetorical question

i mean im telling you that you are showing of being incapable of providing an example, and this is your second attempt of trying to push the buck onto others rather then just say "hey, i hate <thing>"

so like i said:

So you are telling me you dont remember old monste rhunter resource gathering.
We have come a long way, the new remote pickup for items is very much good

i remember it, but i dont count that as part of making gear, unless we're really talking about iron armor or something.

low level rathi armor just needed like, 4 earth crycles and then everything else was a common ore drop, if you did it as you went you could easily make any piece of the armor and move on to the next monster, which was my point about how the endless grinding was self-appointed, not a mandatory thing to progress the game.

I disagree with that sentiment of it being a time waster. It has been part of the game. A mechanic that further helped sell the idea of you being a hunter. The tedium hasn't been removed since they added slow cinematic walks. If anything they should have removed that and kept the rest

Dont think a truer metaphor has ever been said about this franchise.
