COOP Story ruined again
The coop story is once again segmented and cutscene dependent, just like in MHW. I have three friends who enjoy playing co-op together, but last time in MHW, everyone quit early because of this frustrating setup. And now, here we go again...
This feels like a huge slap in the face for me.
The last two weeks i tried to hype up my friends for nothing.

ACG spoke about it in his review. He said during story segments or cutscenes, the team was kicked back to their camp while the host watched the cutscene. He specifically also said that Capcom said this wouldn't be the case, so he is unsure if it was a bug.

Don't tell that guy who thinks Monster Hunter is a multiplayer only game and that anyone who plays solo is anti-social. The fact that the story isn't coop friendly would ruin his entire narrative
The beta version of multiplayer is not the same as the real version that comes out Feb 27... People have been told this before.

Trying to get through the story coop with a partner was annoying, clunky and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in World. Sad they didn't fix it. Have to launch a quest, get the cutscene, leave and then post the hunt properly for each and every story beat according to ACG. Guess they learned nothing.
Or players learned nothing. They're single player games. With drop in drop out co-op for specific hunts. It's not a co-op story. They may still fix it by launch, as promised.

The review version =/= beta version. Reviewers are essentially playing the game as it ships, minus the day 1 patch. You'd expect that if you're intended to be able to watch cutscenes as a group then that would be implemented in the review version, but it's still possible that it will be fixed in the day 1 patch. All we know right now is that it seems to work the same way MHWorld did.

I just watched some new reviews of the launch build, and three of them mentioned that the coop works like it did in MHW. I really hope it's a bug, but its probably not...
Thats a real shame. I love playing with my friends, but I cant force them to spend half their time in SP if they don’t want to.

And yet, Monster Hunter Rise did exactly the opposite, allowing everyone to play the story progression together.

True. If this is confirmed, it's pretty disappointing. One of MHR's advantages was precisely that they changed this.

Im pretty sure that when we first try to play Rise together, the story mode is single-player only, and only the hub quests can be played cooperatively. Does this change later or i miss something?

You are correct. The other persons making up stuff to try to fit the narrative.

Rise and older MH's seperated the Village Quest, and the Hub Quest lines.
