Are Charge Blade mains re-rolling into another main wep?
After how much of a disappointment CB was in the first beta, i told myself that when the game comes out, i'll main another weapon. Played the second beta, and decided to try the Gunlance. It was OP, and way stronger than CB, but after playing it for around 8h, i just can't use such a simpleton/braindead weapon. My neurons aren't being activated by playing such a noob-stink weapon, so even tho is super powerful, i decided to stick with CB, even though i cann't stand anything Savage Axe related.

It's funny because the change to being more Savage Axe oriented makes me more likely to play it.

charge blade is charge blade, pizza cutter for life

savage axe is more damage per swing, you can go for SAED if you want, just know the good timings for that

no? they gave us something to do besides saed, savage axe is great fun, reminds me of a style from gen ulti but improved upon

Drop CB? No way. You can have my Charge Blade when you pry it from my cold dead fingers.

I thought it felt great during the playtest and considering all the recent chatter surrounding how good "Savage Axe" apparently is I probably wasn't even doing optimal combos.
I'm not a fan of savage axe because it feels like it removes a lot of the complexity that old CB had, so I'll probably main SnS for most of my playthrough. I always make multiple sets for each weapon at endgame though, and I'm sure I'll spend a decent amount of time on CB because I love the weapon design. Hopefully you're not forced into spamming the same 2 savage axe moves to do decent dps with CB in this game.

So you enjoy wielding a clunky ass axe that requires you to hold buttons with every SA attack? Even makes you want to use the weapon? Damn,......

Why would you ever go SAED when it deals trash tier damage, and then you'll waste time charging and overcharging phials for SA? SAED is dead, you never use it, its sub optimal.

i mean its def an improvement from switching to axe to only just saed and then returning to sword form, giving axe from some leave was to be expected
Only dumb fivers want SAED the weapon. AED for life.

Sword and Shield mode is so agile with evade extender 3. You get the best of both world in Rise and World. Its literally like playing with Bloodborne mobility in a MH game when you're in Sword n Shield, then unload your phials to deal high deeps/CC mobs, and go back to the agility and guard points. I don't see, nor will ever see or understand wtf people are complaining about here. This playstyle was incredible.

Yes...

It has huge reach, does massive damage, and is fun to use... Frankly I've found the changes to EVERY weapon a huge improvement.

Acting like holding a button on controller is hard and clunky.... XD

I dunno, even against Arkveld SA felt ultra clunky and slow. I can only imagine how bad it'll be at the endgame. Damage is good, yes, but you're literally wielding the twin towers on your shoulders with that thing. Might as well go with the GS and get that awesome parry it has.

The clunk is the mobility. But are you seriously saying that with EVERY SINGLE SA attack, holding the button is good design? Come on now.
No, CB felt fine in the beta. Savage axe is a bit tricky to get use to, but you don't need to play optimally anyways. I play charge blade trying to get perfect guards into ultimate discharges. More fun even if you're getting less dps over time.
