charge blade is an easy example cause to get savage axe you need to hit a wound, or you need to get a proper guard, the former is done through your own actions, and the latter is entirely reliant on the enemy attacking you, making it rng based.
i can completely understand the complaint about it cause there are a few mechanics tied to it that make some weapons better, and then you have some that simply just gain nothing and burn the wound to do damage.
im still of the opinion that 1 wound you inflict should be personal, to prevent this issue, but it is what it is.
Trust me, I agree with you. Wounds are just there as extra damage and part damage and sometimes monster control. However, because they tied these 3 weapons to wounds and perfect blocks to bump their abilities higher, they are wanting to take priority. Me? If I see a wound, I'm taking it.
The potential gain for the handful of weapons that *do* gain benefit from wounds aren't worth waiting for them to pop the wound when the faster you pop a wound, the faster a new wound will appear in that spot. Any other takes are based purely out of selfishness instead of team play.
Similar to Limit Break in FFXIV, the potential team dps gain from using LB3 is a personal DPS loss for the individual casting it. But we use it because it kills the boss faster even if the person using it has slightly worse personal dps because of it.
