I have seen that kid cry in every trailer so far. My fear is this kid is going to be crying in every cutscene which is going to annoy me. You can skip cutscenes i hear. Anybody else feel this way?

Still better than what our handler was doing in world.

People actually want to watch cutscenes in a monhun game? That's crazy. Less talking, more hunting.

A hoonter must hoont.
Without a doubt a legitimate concern. 2 crying kids in the first several cutscenes. So annoying. Only reason I'll even watch any cutscenes is for the monster introductions, if it looks like it's a cutscene where those kids are the focus, it's getting skipped.

Yeah... it kinda worries me that the kid will be a super whiny brat. At that point you kinda wish you could pick them up like in Dragon's Dogma and throw him to a hungry Pickle.

Preach. I'd watch that cutscene.
we might get lucky and he dies and then we don't have to deal with him. even if not-once we beat the game, he'll get forgotten about and never dealt with again as we spend the next several 100 or 1000 hours murdering monsters and not having to listen to his crying.

We know from datamines that the kid is a crybaby at first because he only knows violence. Like, he see arkveld, and his first thing is "just slaughter it so we can move on". All the hunters are going "we need to find out WHY its rampaging, and what it is". The story progresses and the kid learns that just slaughtering everything for the sake of it isnt a healthy mindset.

You literally know nothing about the Guild or the history of Monster Hunter. The Guild literally has a pseudo assassin and military arm that ruthlessly hunts down poachers and traitor Hunters and one of the Guild's overall primary directives is preserving ecosystems even if they're harmful to humanity.

They will literally ban hunters by law from over-hunting monsters in controlled areas.

Maybe the kid should learn a thing or 2 from palicos who are always cute and helpful despite everything hunters put them through

Bruh, been playing since 3U, I've heard this plenty of times but you actually think people are just "culling" monsters in this game? ROFLMFAO.

Like I said, kid's got a point when it comes to the actual game

the kid seems fine, as far as kid characters go. It's just yadda yadda heroes journey fulfil your destiny type shi. Japanese games have a bad rap with obnoxious child support characters but this doesn't come anywhere near the most egregious offenders (such as FF13 Vanille, which actually stopped me from playing the game through she was so bad)
