What should I upgrade my gpu too?
I have a
i5 14500
32g ram
3060rtx 12g
750watt psu
and on a 500 dollar budget

So many gpu and look best bang for %. Was waiting maybe on the 5070 rtx but with a lot of bad reviews on them plus a melting problem. I have no issue with amd and willing to go with either. I got the 3060 12g on sale for 249.99 about two years back. So ready for a upgrade.

Hmm.. maybe an rtx 4070 super? or wait and see whats radeon has to offer.. I think they gonna launch their new card on the 28th (the new power connector rly is dumb.. Idk why they dont stick with the old reliable connector..)
On a $500 budget you're looking at a 7800XT.

(which for some reason in the US seems to be $250-300 cheaper than the 4070... and faster than it...)
But tbh, now is a pretty terrible time to be upgrading your GPU. Pricing is pretty poor everywhere.

Radeon about to launch 9070Xt, Nvidia about to launch 5070 (which should be using 2x8 pin not the dreaded 12pin). Both expected in next couple of weeks.

But then, will they both be paper launches? maybe. Will they both be overpriced? probably.

I mean I hate to suggest AMD gpu cuz they have pretty much given up lol and so many games have amd gpu issues, but for the price they are solid in terms of comparison. If they didn't just phone in drivers and ♥♥♥♥ rofl I'd go back to them 🤣
I don't think the 40 or 50 series are even worth it.

They haven't really had major driver issues in a couple of years tbh. I went back to AMD GPU's after bad luck with Nvidia drivers.

This was from 2018, and my wife was already on Radeon so I got to keep an eye on them as I struggled with 1080Ti and 3060 Ti, both of which went through driver updates that nearly bricked them both.

Then frankly I stopped updating the 3060 Ti drivers and rolled back because it seemed like Nvidia totally ignored the 3XXX series after the 4XXX launch and performance was awful in my experiences.

I can't speak for everyone but I got a 4070 and the damn thing crashed every single game I launched, all of them 😂 like I tried 10+ games I sent the issues I had and all the games I tested with crashes or issues. It was 10/10 though on issues across the board so they gave me a refund. Probably refurbished and sold it again I bet lol

So I used that money to upgrade my cpu :auyay:
6080 ti probably

This is the only valid answer. It's too stupid to buy new gpu from this gen.

But this gen came with free fire alarm tests! I don't think I want the next gen to test me for idk gas leaks 🤣
RX 7800XT is as good as it gets at ~$500 price point

You can probably find a deal for RTX 4070 too, which has a slightly increased performance but also 4 less gb VRAM and about $50 more expensive, so that's a worse but still viable option

You can also get Arc B580 or RX 6750XT which both have 12 gb VRAM and are still good enough for now and will be for next year or two, to save $150-200 for a future build or upgrade

Idk lots of recent releases I have played I see issues with them but w in particular Dragons dogma and EDF6 are the 2 I can think of off the top my head xD

But for the price I really can't say not to.
I like Sapphire amd cards, curious what they will be doing with the new amd cards coming out.

Yeah Sapphire do a great job, I don't think many people realise that they're the official heatsink designers for AMD cards.

Though my 7800XT is the cheapest Powercolor model on the market, and despite looking like trash it's a fantastic performer in all metrics.
