CLUTCH CLAW WAS BEST MECHANIC WHY IS IT GONE
and many ppl heard sayng it sucked, why? just fkin why? explain?

it was an optional mechanic that you could just never use but it was the best mechanic to add more dymanic combat, with interesting moves for any weapon and pusth the mosnters into walls so how can you possibly hate it? if you don't like it just dont use it?

ye never expected such a big ammount of ppl hating on such a great mechanic that make the game more dymanic and could have been balanced instead of removing a great and fun mechanic, bcs game is singleplayer and coop and is meant to be fun not competitive to have broken things or smth

It's because it was balanced way too late so everyone hates it now. On release, tenderize only lasted 90 seconds and then later buffed to 180 seconds. Every light weapon users and their mom use the skill that let's you tenderize with one clutch claw, which guess, what, also wasn't there on release. Having to tenderize twice every minute was so cancer for light weapons. If you played a heavy weapon though, honestly you probably didn't have any issue with it.

And finally, basically everyone who didn't have the Iceborne DLC got nerfed in base game because everything, even pre-DLC content was rebalanced with the tenderize mechanic and base game players don't have the clutch claw.

The wallbang is pretty cool. I have absolutely nothing against that mechanic.

It wasn't optional when you want to do DMG

yes it was, everything is, bcs it s a singleplayer coop game, and i played with and without it
it obviously wasn't and like you said, many believed it wasn't. It was a needless filler that was hardly ever used by most, atleast when I played with others I hardly ever saw it being used.

i actually enjoyed using clutch claw, people said its gone, but honestly they made it even more stupid by letting you clutch materials from afar, whats even the point of gathering anymore, just cluctchety clutch clutch
The added moves that came with Iceborne update: good.

The clutch claw... not so much. Tenderise sucked as a mechanic, but it has led to Wounds, which so far seems cool as a mechanic.

it was a bad, over centralizing mechanic that bloated health of monsters to insane levels because of how easy it was to keep them in a state of being unable to fight back, plus the tenderizing mechanic. Between wall bangs, endemic life and falling rocks or w/e other environmental hazard you could use to keep a monster on it's back, they inflated their health to levels you couldn't ignore it and have hunts take a reasonable amount of time. This isn't even mentioning how some weapons didn't have easy ways to get a instant soft spot like SnS did with is roll L2 attack. Which was something that wasn't remedied until literally the very last patch the game had with Fatalis. You can like it, but these are the reasons many did not. It was just a very bad, boring mechanic. They could have very easily brought it into Wilds like they did mantles but they chose not to because they realized how bad it was themselves.

oh you made two of these
Nobody liked that trash.

That's the cool thing about the MH series, every game experiments so the next game can refine the best ideas. XX had the ability/style system, World incorporated many of those moves into the base moveset, Rise brought in customizable movesets and tying your super ability resource together with your survival resource.

World had the awful mount mechanic, Rise made it an option to replace the Palico with a Palamute, and Wilds has expanded on the Palamute even further .

World introduced the clutch claw and slinger, Rise experimented with wirebugs, and Wilds is fusing both together for the focus+wound mechanics. They seem to always learn from their mistakes between entries, and clutch claw was certainly one of them.

And that's what I think is so excellent about Wilds (so far), is this dev team are CLEARLY listening to the community.

They've heard what people generally enjoy and are building upon it.

That's such a rarity these days.

Legit I'm so hyped for this game. It feels like they had a list of all my little gripes with the series and fixed every one of them. It's so clear they want this game to be good for everyone, from the little things like adding back in hitstop after complaints to the big things like making the full game co-op able rather than awkwardly splitting it up like every other game in the series (assuming what they've said in interviews is true).

I'm still expecting SOME multiplayer clunk, it is Monster Hunter after all. But I'm hopeful.

I'm one of the rarities that hopes I can turn hitstop off though, I really liked the no-stop beta xD, don't hate me.

i rly have high hopes for this game but i just hope.. they give smth good in exchange for that grapling hook bcs otherwise i would be rly dissapointed, i wanna play more than 300hrs if i paid 70$ and ... well i have adhd, so i need new things, dynamic and entertaining stuff, exactly what the grapling gave me

I can see why people might enjoy constantly having monsters knocked down unable to fight back. But it's not really healthy for the game. Just like mantles are fun, being able to turn off your brain and have auto-dodge, but they aren't really healthy to the game.

People clutching random items doesn't really defeat gathering. There's too much lag on it and the best gathering spots tightly pack together 10 items. It's meant to grab items useful to buff yourself while chasing down a monster running through areas. Or to pick up one off items while doing that.

im not saying to have it at start but earned later in the game and have a cooldown could work , its a rly fun and dynamic mechanic towards the game and with the right cooldown could be a great asset

Clutch claw was bad and it's gone. Good riddance. One of the most downloaded mods was one that invalidated its operation lol.
clutch claw was the worst thing they could have introduced to monster hunter, ever. be it for wounding or knockdowns, it was all around bad for the game. it bloated hunts for people who weren't abusing knockdowns, and shrank hunts to nothing for people who *were*.
