Let's have a talk about mods and dlc
I wanted to get this off my chest because i've seen this discussion so many times with previous entries in the last 5+ years or so. The reason i combined the topic of mods and dlc is very simple.

Capcom more recent stand against mods isnt because of some sort of "If someone watches a video of a nude mode or whatever we don't want them to think this actually part of the game" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, get that out of your head please. It's a big cope to still believe there's anything like that going on especially since the only places you will find these videos is on social media or obscure forums and more often then not because specifically because you sought them or similar content. 99.9% of the time you will never run in to them by accident.

So then what is the reason, as the topic suggests its dlc. Over the last few entries in the franchise capcom has increased the amount of dlc exponentially, it started with World got a bit worse with Iceborne and kept getting worse with Rise and Sunbreak. We'd be fools to think wilds wouldn't try similar things. To begin with before the game has come out we've allready gotten an announcement for "Cosmetic DLC PACKs". This will likely yet again include weapon skins and armors and it may or may not affect how much we get out of event quests as Rise and Sunbreak to a lesser extend to had a horrendously low amount of event armors and weapons compared to previous entries. So the reason they don't want you to be able to mod the game is because they don't want you to mod in cosmetics yourself, they want you to buy them. And i implore you, do not give in.

I know theres gonna be tons of people throwing shade that "how dare i tell them what to do with their money" and "they get to support their favorite game with extra purchases if they want to", saying how "We should be glad that there's free title updates to begin with". I will tell you right now, buying these cosmetics does not somehow increase the money the devs gets. The Devs are allready being payed a sellery, they make their money simply through working hours to put out content. The only people this money goes torwards is the greedy suits at the top who came up with the idea to lessen the amount of free content and turn it into payed dlc to begin and they're also the ones telling you mods are bad because they fear that people will simply "steal" the payed cosemtics and put them in as free mods. You're quite literally helping noone by paying for these cosmetics, you're only helping make the franchise and industry as a whole worse.

And the free title updates? We allready know a lot of the content TU has been data that was partially allready in the game on release, heck look at Rise, the game that quiet literally released unfinished and the final boss had to be put in with the third title update. A lot of what you percieve as them adding extra content is just them actually putting in stuff that the devs wanted to be there to begin with. But investors and higher ups have no patience for this stuff, they want the game to be out so it can earn them money as soon as possible. Rise could have been delayed and finished instead of putting it out the way they did, but they quiet literally weren't allowed to, so they had to make do.

So please for the love of all that you hold dear, do not buy cosmetic dlcs. Do not needlessly ♥♥♥♥ on the modding scene. And stop sucking Capcom Corporate's Pickle. They're not your friends, they don't care about you, they don't even care about the franchise you and i like, nor would they bet an eye about firing any of the great devs working on MH if they don't fall in line with their greedy decisions. I thank you for reading if you made it this far, you have my blessing to now throw a tantrum or spam me with clown awards, i don't care. I genuinely hope you guys just thinks twice before you ruin stuff for everyone else.

TL;DR: Capcom doesnt want you to use mods cause they view it in competition with their payed dlc. Please do not buy cosmetic dlc's. Just enjoy the Main Game and eventual Expansion.

World has nearly $550 of paid DLC. I don't even know how much is in Rise but I imagine it's a lot.

They cry about inflation but then charge you $5 to edit your character appearance....
Or gamer's can ban together and tell Crapcom to kick rocks for cutting content/ features to resell as dlc but we know that wont happen. There are too many out there that are happy making a purchase knowing full well that it will be a detriment to us all.

Feed the corporate greed and pay the price indeed.

We, gamers, are happy to chip in and pay a bit extra in stead of the mewling tourists to keep our industry going. Hopefully, one day you'll better yourself and join us in the modern arts patronage.

People like you are the reason why the gaming industry is what it is, a pile of steaming ♥♥♥♥.

You are not a gamer, just a consumer.
Preach. I also dk why Capcom keeps getting away with charging MTX for basic character editting...

I will mod this game to death... just with QoL things or something like "You can change your appearence for FREEE :) I dont mind to pay for little things that i like or a dlc, but i HATE the "here 1 emote - please give us MONEEEEEY" ... im a gamer, im a consumer, but not a fcking stupid idiot.
Free character voucher edit?

Yes, please! Don't like it, don't use it.

It's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ business practices at work.

-Never buy day 1 DLC
-Never buy bonuses that should be part of the base game (Male ---> Female ---> Male)
Oh it's 100% because people mod in the DLC lol. Playing world and someone just comes in with the summer gear from a summer event or DLC purchase before it went live 2 weeks later. I'm sure that made Capcom a bit testy. They can't sell DLC's to PC people if the DLC's are free to PC people. Personally, I don't know why capcom doesn't have an anticheat for the online portion of the game at this point.

I support mods so people can actually try to play the game at all thanks to the likes of AsteriskAmpersand and those performance mods.

Also go ahead and mod in the preorder layered armors if you can never get them legit after the fomo practice anyway.

This has always been my issue with world and rise. If you are going to make every single thing a mtx i'm going to just use mods and let my friends know which ones. There should never be 100+ cosmetic armor sets for sell for anything. If you have predatory practices you should not be surprised is people don't fall prey.
