I am the type of person who would gladly answer a question like this if I could. Simply because I enjoy talking about the things I love.
Wound mechanic introduced. Building upon the tenderise mechanic from World, you weaken a monster part until a wound opens, then that wound can be destroyed with damage or a focus strike. Destroying wounds often seems to bring a monster down.
Weapon design is meant to be a huge step up from World.
All high-rank armor now creates a Layered Armor set. Armor is no longer gender locked. Gogo fashion hunting.

No worries! Without spoilering things for you, but this new game engine has enabled some new Monster behaviours that are crazy cool, so we're in for a few treats.
