I am a noob for playing dual blades?
In worlds i play the hammer first, but after a while a switched to DB. They just clicked with me. Same in Rise and now in Wilds Beta.....i feel so slow with the other weapons.

But are DB easy mode? I feel like i need the movement or get stomped to hard from most monsters.

Dual blades is a more traditional move set for an action brawler game. They allow much more movement and windows to dodge between hits and combos. Pure weapons are considered less technical and lower skill.
Pure weapons include. . .
Dual blades
Knife
Great sword
Long blade
Hammer
Lance
Technical weapons include. . .
Switch axe
Gunlance
Charge blade
Horn
Bowguns

All weapons require some skill.

No weapon would be considered a "noob weapon" and that includes LS, which is often a running gag or a meme that only people that are bad at the game use it. It's not what weapon you use, it's how you use it.

Besides, if you have fun, nobody has any right to judge.

LS is the best weapon but dual are fine

Greetings! I don't think you are a noob for playing dual blades! I personally don't enjoy them specifically because of what they ask in return for their abilities. You get a super dodge though I'd argue Bow's ninja flip dodge into a fully charged up shot is even more anime. Lots of build up with elements or dmg so if you have a set for each element and look up weaknesses @.@ oh yea it's blender time.

For me though It comes with a few downsides. A crippling addiction to dash juice. Those tiny tiny swords. Flailing about missing the tail was awful though maybe with that new aim setup it will be easier. But most importantly the stamina management. It is another layer that you may or may not enjoy, but it is there.

Also don't stress about the community one way or the other unless you engage with the forums a ton. Most hunts you won't think much about the other hunters if everything is going well. No one tripping everyone doing their thing, I doubt anyone here even remembers what classes made up their last party besides theirs and a friend perhaps. Don't triple cart, don't trip teammates, let the bash up front slash in the rear, and I doubt in game you will ever hear or see a thing.
What kind of stupid question is this. Play whatever you want.

Wannabe weeb carrying 2 toothpicks, go for it.

nah the real noob weapon is the LS

big range, fast attack, insane I-frame

I hate people who say this ♥♥♥♥.

"Oh it's all subjective"; one weapon could be a flaming sword made of poop that requires a fishing rod and hip thrusts that does 1 damage and the other could be some godly psychic gun that feels engaging and looks cool, but "no weapon is better than the other".

Just be honest. There ARE better weapons. Weapons that have ease-of-use, do more damage, are more safe. There are categories to be broken down.

Objectively, Blast Lance on explosive barrels was "the best" in MHWorld because of a glitch.

What you SHOULD say, is that the performance of the weapon is not as important as the amount of fun you have using it.

But just of the sake of it, here's the real answer to your question-

Here's the "weapons people don't respect" tier list:

1. Longsword - people have trauma from getting flinched so they hate it, and they hate that it's "weeby" and looks like a katana
2. HBG - also from getting flinched
3. Hunting Horn - because many Monster Hunter games had them overall as a net negative to the group, and a lot of Hunting Horn players literally just played songs to buff and then stood on the sidelines not DPSing
4. Dual Blades - not because of a good reason, only because they don't like the "naruto run" and the "attack on titan" vibes of the attacks; aka "weeby"
5. Everything that's ranged: LBG and Bow are separate from HBG in pure hate, but they're still under the umbrella of "L2P loser ranged gimmick"

Most respected:

1. Greatsword - requires prediction, probably the highest DPS melee weapon in most Monster Hunter games, requires good knowledge of the fights, looks impressive when you land
2. Switch Axe - lovingly dubbed the "swag axe" from the community, it's flashy and requires a bit of finesse to play. Not exactly the "best" at DPS but isn't a slouch either. Note how the weapons people respect mostly aren't related to performance
3. Charge Blade - the "juggle of buttons" weapon, people respect you for playing a complicated weapon that puts out pretty normal amounts of DPS

Nobody thinks about them:

1. Lance - The worst weapon on the DPS tier lists, typically the worst weapon in most Monster Hunter games, but people genuinely don't care about your existence
2, Sword and Shield - An above average weapon that's fairly new player friendly, and has its moments, but nobody is particularly excited or disappointed when they're around.
3, Hammer - people make memes about it, Unga Bunga, but it's mostly a background noise in comparison to other weapons

Niche fanbase:

1. Insect Glaive - This goes under the Charge Blade section but with less DPS and more mobility as well as less complicated (not referring to Wilds though, ♥♥♥♥ needs a degree for this game)
2. Blast Lance - Some people really like Blast Lance. A vocal minority, but they're there. Most people don't care though, other than the exploiting

So as you can see, a lot of hatred towards weapons is:

Generational trauma
Anti-weeb disgust
Aesthetic preference
"Cool factor"

If you want to be a rational, level-headed human being, know all these dumb stereotypes and play what you like playing anyways.

Because the only way you can succeed is if you log in. If you enjoy Lance, and everyone clowns on you for it, even if it's half the DPS of the top contender... that's a reason to log in.

Sticking to it is more important than min-maxing your weapon combo.

We don't know what Wilds meta will be like. From appearances, it looks like Bow is looking as an extremely strong contender for top DPS, but there's whispers of rumors of Bow being nerfed, so don't hold your breath.

Another theorycrafted option is Blast Lance, but we'll see.

But none of that matters if you don't feel comfortable in your own skin... err... weapon.

Like u said depends on what your play style is. DB have pros and cons is up to u what u want for example u can proc faster affixes but u have less stun build up
There are no noob weapons or play styles in monster hunter. Play what you want.
luca Feb 23 @ 9:43am
na play what you want, keep in mind you can have two weapons
HoneyDrake Feb 23 @ 11:24am
There are tier lists, there are differences in power for each weapon, and patches, DLC's, and even events break or fix some of those weapons.

Like always: picking a ranged weapon means you will have the easiest time and the most constant DPS of your group and never being forced to learn mechanics.

Getting told "play whatever you like, everything is equally fun, you can kill everything with any weapon type" is just wrong. Many weapons need optimal combos, a proper skill setup, to even compete with many other "choices" out there.

Often times, without a proper setup, you can not even kill some monsters on time, because you waste way too many opportunities to deal damage by sharpening or setting up stuff. You don't have at least X elemental damage? Ohh, you didn't switch to another weapon with the other element being just as good? Yeah, you can not even kill a certain boss in World with most weapons without grinding for months or more to compete with other weapons which require a few cheap decos being swapped out.... really "fun", haha
As a gunlance user, i think it's one of the more noob friendly weapons. weapons that have higher risk like the dbs arent so easy imo.

worthless rant

It IS subjective, because the meta itself is. The vast majority of MH players don't care about utterly meaningless clear times and many people don't see it as a measurement of worth.

And what's even more hilarious is that even many people who do admit some monster move sets and their own design simply punish some weapons more.

Like half of your post was also objectively subjective. You're talking about glitches, randamos arbitrarily deciding measurements of power, and stuff like weapon respect lmao, and stuff that IS respect like weapon popularity which is influenced by a TON of things.

The objective fact is that there is no best weapon, and you can beat the game solo or in group with any of them, and the vast majority of the playerbase isn't going to care what you use just that you're a decent player.

Anyone who throws an elitist tantrum is doing so based on their own personal perceived conceptions and should just be ignored anyway. They stand within a very lonely circle and you should let them.
