1. The Wilds desert environment feels less dense and less layered than World's maps (that is, there doesn't feel like there's as much verticality or interactive elements as in World), but to be fair during World's beta I wasn't taking advantage of the Wildspire Waste verticality either. The Wilds map has lots of points of interest with interesting hazards or elements for hunting, players will just have to play for a while to experience them and grow familiar with them, and the map is so large now that they don't feel right next to each other -- there's lots of space in between these elements.
2. The Seikret is so fast that it does feel like the map shrinks in size while riding it. Having the Seikret at its slowest speed made traveling between the points of interest and map areas SUCH a slow burn -- riding on the bird definitely makes the more feel smaller because it takes so little time to get from one area to another. Didn't even bother trying to run from one end of the map to another on foot, it felt like it'd be such a long distance it would legitimately be a waste of time to do so during the limited time I had with the beta.
According to the preview event, more of the map opens up as the story unfolds. You also no longer stay in one area until it's clear, but constantly bounce between regions across the story.
I mean yeah pretty MH for then to move around and even to small or bigger areas. They aren't gonna let you always fight then on the open plains lol
Then at least let the envoiment affect the monster. They move at a fast pace and they constanly clip through things. (looking at you Gore)
