Lmao what?
MH works in a cycle of 2 starting from the 2nd generation. The Flagship titles are more slow and serious with the portable titles trying new things, often being a little more arcadey.
Flagship title > Portable Title > Flagship Title > Portable Title.
MH Freedom 2 (Flagship), MH Freedom Unite (Portable PSP)
MH 3 (Flagship), MH 3 Ultimate (Portable 3DS)
4th gen went for both releases on the 3DS, but still had a Flagship and a "Portable" title.
MH4 (Flagship), MHX/MH Generations (Portable)
MH World (Flagship), MH Rise (Portable Switch)
There's a long history of this.
Edit:
To elaborate on why I don't see Freedom Unite or 3U as "portable" games despite being on handheld. Below are the internationally released games and their enhanced edition.
The "trial" games aside from Generations and Rise were mostly Japan only releases: Monster Hunter Portable, Portable 2/2G (Freedom 2/Freedom Unite), and Portable 3rd. Making 3rd Gen the first Gen to really split between flagship and trial/Portable. These were released in between generations like how Generations was between 4U and Worldborne and Risebreak was between Worldborne and Wilds
Are trash.
I'll better play MH: World while waiting for MH:Wilds
Rise was a nintendo port, not specifically built for PC, and more akin to the legend of Zelda in style like most nintendo games
Hell no. I'm getting the Premium Deluxe version.
Even if the game were to somehow be extremely mediocre or bomb, the franchise has been worth every penny, so it still won't feel wasted.
It was called MH5 internally, has 5 wyvern heads in the logo, and you play as the 5th fleet all because it's MH5 but they decided to drop the number as to not intimidate new players who might think they needed to play previous entries
It took what made MH good and spit on it :|
