really underwhelming

so far I haven't seen anything worth being hyped about

the monsters so far are between meh and lame,
no new weapons
graphics are hella mid
performance is a big question mark

idk... i'm still waiting to be amazed and so far nothing

The Congalala and Kut-Ku disrespect is huge! Anjanath replaced Kut-Ku, not the other way around lol. And Congalala is just a fun hunt. Toad is also a starter monster like Great Jagras, you basically said "look at great jagras, this is a lame roster."

Edit: and you're ignoring giant bear sloth who roam in packs, rail gun dragon, discount Dune sandworms, plus all the other new monsters shown in trailers like Oil-Octopus and Fire Monkey

idk.. when you started out in World and the first large monster you see is Anjanath coming out of nowhere and throwing that great Jagras around like a ragdoll you're like "holy crap"

but so far in Wilds where exactly is the "holy crap" moment ? .. when those big ugly bears showed up ? or when that totally unimpressive toad showed up ? lol



if instead of that dumb farting monkey they would've showed me like a different Rajang species more bigger and scary looking then i'd be like ok ok I see you capcom you're cooking

As a player from 3U, Anjanath is by far one of the least appealing monster of the franchise.
Its literally just a fire breathing T-rex.
Had it continously had its nostrils or "wings" always flared up/become bigger than it actually was, it'd be more interesting.

His Fulgur form, however, is more appealing

Uh Oh Stinky Monke was really fun in MHGU. His gimmick is supposed to be tremor spam as well as teaching you not to always hug the monster due to his flatulence. He also does varying elemental damages depending on the food he eats mid-fight. Think they took away his tremors for low-rank based on the spam, or just removed them outright because they're too confusing for longsword players.
Yian Kut-Ku (I assume that's who you're talking about) also isn't an anjanath parallel, that would be Yian-Garuga (who they already nerfed the fun out of AND shrunk in MHW, so, yeah I see the complaint). He's more of Low Rank Barroth parallel since we don't have dromes to fill out the roster anymore and they're probably reducing the number of small monster hunts and gathering quests that would normally fill out lower-end Village/Low Rank.
