PSA: Don't attack wounds while someone has mounted the target
A person mounting the monsters can easily apply 2-3 wounds, but if someone breaks an already existing one and staggers the monster the mounted person is thrown off.

This means you end up giving up 2-3 wounds just to break 1, when you could have broken 3-4.
So when someone has mounted the monster, target non-wounded parts of it until it is downed or the person is thrown off.

Thing is the moment someone mounting and aplyying 2-3 wounds with circle button press, i deal tousands of damage so it does not matter for the moment with the current roster.

Why waste time attacking wounds when someone mounts something? That takes too long.

Just flash the monster instead!

But you get loot from destroying a wound, so, it would be in everyone's best interest to just destroy a wound when it appears then? Kind of goes against the OPs message at this point.

the wounds would open 1 second later anyway. this changes nothing, best to just have everyone not give a f and keep their damage rotation going, imo

No, what he says is true, as you get extra wounds.

But also, it is entirely inconsequential.
I was wondering why I kept getting ejected during MP. I just thought my friends were knocking the monster down from DPS.
This game teaches me how not to play action game aka faceroll everything, don't pay attention to anything, and just press the W key on what's moving. A true mobile experience.
other players deal way less damage while the monster is mounted. It is probably a dps loss to stay mounted long enough to make all those wounds. Just get one wound and topple the monster if you are in a group.

I in fact literally said the opposite and said to attack non-wounded parts.

You would think so but 2/3rds of multiplayer hunts I've joined I've been prematurely ejected because people are stupid and just kept going for wounds; often before I've even had enough time to apply 1, let alone 2-3.

I'd be curious to see analytics on that.
I find mounting to be a great way to consistently get wounds on the heads and tails of larger Mons. I then draw finish on one and go for the other once I'm on the ground again. (and of course the back as well if it's first mount)

Why tf are you using circle instead of triangle?
You do much more damage with triangle.
