Crown monsters are when they are larger or smaller then their average size. Some monsters can spawn much larger or much smaller then normal. Collecting crowns gives you an award in game and silver crowns don't give one. Silver crowns are still a tier below golden in size.

In Monster Hunter Wilds, a crown refers to a size classification for monsters. Just like in previous games, monsters can spawn at different sizes, and exceptionally large or small ones earn gold or silver crowns in your hunter’s records.

Types of Crowns:
Gold Crown (Large) – Signifies that the monster is one of the largest specimens you've hunted.
Silver Crown (Large) – A slightly smaller but still above-average large monster.
Gold Crown (Small) – Marks an exceptionally tiny version of the monster.
Silver Crown (Small) – A slightly larger small monster but still below average size.

These crowns are often required for achievements/trophies and can be a completionist’s goal. Monster sizes don’t affect gameplay much, but larger ones may have slightly different hitboxes and reach, while smaller ones can be harder to hit.

You should know
I'll suggest to them that they should implement platinum crowns so all gold crowns you already have are worthless. Needless to say they should look almost identical to silver crowns to make it more infuriating than anything you've ever played.

Hope this helps.

no, the small size is still visible so from my perspective they used to edge my hope a little bit

And? They easily can make it still small but not enough for small golden crown. Just like with large crown's and size's.

There is no silver small crown, there is only miniature crown which is gold in colour

Wait. People actually care about crown hunting?

Ya, silver crowns make no sense. It's like "ahh so close, but not so quite". Why even have that.

True
Entitlement complex.

What else to do when you've killed every monster and already got a proper build, gotta use that build somehow.
