Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds

İstatistiklere Bak:
At this rate... Monster Hunter 7th gen will become a Hack n' Slash.
Just do it Capcom. I know you want to. You know that's the sauce.

At this point, why can't we just attack and move at the same time? Give us dodges with no startup, endlag or cooldown too.

Have you played sekiro? The best way to play that game is highly aggressively with parries in between attacks.

Sekiro isn't a hack and slash. The term doesn't mean what it sounds like.

It's very specific terminology for action game where you can just mash buttons and there is not much strategy or commital actions.

Sekiro is one of the hardest and most deliberate games ever lol.
Yeah and monster hunter is “deliberate” to. So this doesn’t change the fact that sekiro is the peak of this genre and monster hunter has no excuse to be as jank as it is anymore. Thankfully with wilds, they are moving away from the jank. Focus mode is unironically the best thing they’ve done to make the combat in the series not feel as clunky. It doesn’t make it “easier”.

Surprised you are so in love with Wilds if Sekiro is your jam lol.

Interesting.

Well I mean. The point is they keep going in that direction so eventually it'll be TOO much.

and they aren't buffing monsters to match it.

Because sometimes I play games to relax. This game isn’t supposed to be as hard as something like sekiro. And none of the monster hunter games ever were. The very RPG stat system and passive skills pretty much guarantees that you can always cheese the game somehow. It was intentionally designed that way. Much like how Elden Ring can be made hilariously easy with it’s RPG systems and different builds. If the games were meant to be pure challenges you wouldn’t be able to make any builds or upgrade any stats at all.
I just feel like I have 100 other games that are relaxing. I can go play Zelda or like pretty much anything. Hell I even enjoy Kirby games.

So it's a bit sad when one of the major ones shifts away from original focus.

Calling Sekiro the peak of anything is lmao worthy.
Focus Mode trivializes positioning. Certain cancels, like Helmbreaker on LS, trivialize commitment.

This isn't innovating anything, it's just taking gameplay aspects away.

It was never supposed to be “hard” to begin with. My first game in the series was the original version of tri back when it was a Wii exclusive. It didn’t have a master rank in the original release. And to act like it was a hard game even now is frankly deceitful to not only others, but yourself as well. The game definitely was clunky, but that wasn’t “hard” by any means.
Another thing is... Monster Hunter only has one thing you do... kill bosses. So if the combat isn't like top tier or even remotely challenging. I'd rather go play some game that has an "adventure" aspect to it. Or puzzles. Literally anything than just facetanking bosses that give no resistance.

But it is what it is.

You're gatekeeping dude.

XD. The irony.

Uh, no they aren't. Opening the gate to more players, even if they're casual players, is the exact opposite of gatekeeping.

Gatekeeping is closing the gates and inspecting people before allowing them through.

Quoting him:
"I think that the problem is MH has had such bad movement/mobility mechanics for such a long time that people became indoctrinated/institutionalized and just figured thats how the games should always play, and when world/rise/wilds came out and actually tried to make changes to mobility for the better, yalls brains short circuited and the spell was broken.

"WHAT? I can aim my greatsword now and not miss 80% of my swings? NO MY IMMERSION!""

In what world though is this not using mental abuse terminology such as indoctrination to say that the fanbase has been brainwashed and doesn't know what's good for them. He basically says that everyone that likes the old games is stupid and brainwashed to think so.

I feel like in a way this is
1) a very abusive statement in itself that could be classified as adjacent to gaslighting

2) It is gatekeeping in a way because he's gatekeeping by saying the old games are not to be enjoyed for those reasons stated.

Even if it's not gatekeeping. It's definitely number 1.

You can still enjoy the older games.
Just go back and play them.

lol this. Idk why people have such strange ideas of what the old games were.

Back in the day everyone playing any weapon that required heavy stamina usage just used dash juice. Idk why we are pretending stamina ever mattered. Thank god they changed how that worked in world. What’s the point of a resource system if an item completely invalidates it.

This is the same thing as people complaining you don’t hunt the monster anymore because they are always on the map. Yeah like the single spawn point and psychoserum plus paintballs didn’t plaster where the monster was at all times
I mean that's a reasonable take and I agree that some of the things vets complain about are iffy at best.

My thing really just comes down to the monster AI/health etc. The punishment aspects.

This is not one of the hardest games ever. I'm almost certain that every paradox game disagrees, and even other soulslike games

These days it is. Soulslike games are just like what I would call trial-and-error difficulty which was very common back in the Arcade/NES/SNES days
