Question about modding
hello, I just want to ask if using REframework mod will it delete my save file when they drop an update? cause when looking about modding on these forums saw people say modders has save files wiped post the update on Monday and was wondering if having any mod even like REframework will lead to the same result. I just want to have some better performance for fps is all but been holding off cause last thing I want is my save to be deleted. note I haven't modded and still playing on vanilla of the game, just wanted some clarification.

it should not delete ur save file but who knows what mods ur gona download and how u might follow those installation guide, which may cause it to be deleted somehow.

and modding is always a potential risk, if you cant take that risk just dont do it.

There's no risk in modding monhun. And there's no risk of your save file corrupting with an update.

I dunno if you will or won't have problems.

But if you're worried about your save then make a backup. You should always do that with any game you've modded anyway.

Open the folder here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\#############\2246340
and Copy and paste the "win64_save" folder somewhere you'll be able to find later.

Note: the ############### is your steam user ID, if you're the only one who uses your PC, then there will only be one folder inside "userdata".
REFramework should in theory not do this.

A mod that might use REframework that alters stuff such as adding items, might break your save if CC releases a patch and your mod isnt updated.
Any mods that allowed user to free purchase DLC will be flagged and definitely banned.

100% is safe but my advice, always back-up your save file. Read the requirement before installation.
Your game and savefile are perfectly safe, assuming you don't get any mods from weird places/untrusted sources as well as stuff that grants you illegal unlocks. Seen pleny of posts on the web lately of people starting to get banned because they used mods to give them access to paid content without paying for said content.

If you are that worried, than follow the instructions of the previous commenter and make a manual backup of your file. But I've had no issues ever thus far since 2018 in 3 different MH games.
