No.
It's more like a save file editor like the one for World unless I mistaken, if I'm not, then it is safe to use I assume.
Let them find out in the modding community, not here.
It affects the savegame with unnatural values, making it easy for Capcom to tell that they cheated DLC content, Therefore it is always no.
Not what threadstarter asked and nothing I have interest to discuss it after making guides on the matter before. Long story short: it is up to everyone's own decision to go for the risks.
The only despicable behaviour is using mods which spoils the fun of others.
Other than that it is easy for me: I could not care less.
Didn't take much effort, went on Nexus, looked up a mod for that and the very 1st post in the posts section is someone showing a perma ban from multiplayer for using it.
This is gold
However, these reports have no real confirmation. No real way to tell if it was because of the character editing. Some of those people use mods to do all sorts of things and that includes the more obvious ones that affect other people.
If you stick to mods that only affect your game and mods that only you can see (armor mods) then you will most likely be okay considering the entire history of this series. However, with Wilds being the biggest MH release yet, time will tell.
Capcom only cares about mods that make them lose money. Like the Voucher mod.
I like to underline 120NAP's comment
We have no confirmations, we will not get any confirmations. Period.
Capcom will not go lengths to public shaming in detail to prevent details from leaking.
Caught users will not tell the truth and are not to be trusted to begin with.
Anything more than "no, it is not safe because Capcom can check" <--- does not say Capcom will check, but they sure can ---> is just speculation and a matter of personal decision, as you have actively agreed to Capcoms terms and conditions.
Yup. They view all mods like cheats. They won't ban you for any mod only because they know it's bad for business. They will ban you for circumventing paid DLC. They would, however, love to ban all modders.
One thing I can say from personal experience back in World was that client-side character edits (as in my char looked normal for others) never got me in trouble, not the same as a free edit tho or illegal access to dlc/cosmetics.
They don't get ban trust me, there's people install mod that gives gunlance new movesets, and the guy were still able to kill fatalis with us in World. And all we saw was him standing still and fatty takes damage, is pretty funny ngl.
And this kind of mod are "allowed" in MH, but the voucher are a product to be sold, and it might be a bannable offense if they were to duplicate the item in question rather than simply editing their local save file.
Correct.
That is why I am on the stance: let them find out themselves at the right place.
Steam forums is not.
