It's just a skill check, really.
When a monster flees, it's because you lowered their HP below a threshold. Chase them down on your Seikret, it'll lead you there. Literally all you have to do is press up on your D pad and just watch your screen while your Seikret leads you to the monster's new location.
If you're talking when they leave the locale, it's because the monsters on the map are dynamic. If it was the all monsters all the time, the map would be way too crowded to try to hold them all. When you hover over them on your map, it shows the time remaining before they leave the locale. If the time is too short, don't bother.
If a small creature appeared and started attacking you, you'd run away before it killed you wouldn't you?
Exactly. It takes like, 60 seconds to chase down a fleeing monster if even that, and all you have to do is press a single button to get your birb to chase it. You don't even need to do anything between that. (Though I would recommend sharpening/buffing/healing/etc)
No, I'd step on it.
I agree to an extent. Rey Dau loves to just ♥♥♥♥ off every 25 seconds for no good reason.
.... Chase it down. You literally just need to press a single button to get your mount to go after it.
If it left the locale, then pay attention to timers next time.
The game is not at fault here.
what if you tried to step on an ant, and the ant said "evade window 5"
Bummer, it got away. Was that during a quest or were you in expedition?
MH is always about ecosystem and environment. Of course they flee if you dominate them. I flich them or use a focus attack or something else
For the third time:
All monsters on the map have a timer before they leave. And a "hidden" timer before they arrive. (You can see the approximate arrival times on the forecast map).
Pay attention to the timers.
Also, adding 2 things to my informative statement that aren't informative but I need to say
1. Capturing monsters doesn't make you a "pus". If you think killing things in a video game makes you a big strong man, it doesn't.
2. How did you know the "literal" exact amount of HP it had, or are you approximating? Because depending on the monster, there can be a bit of a gap between "It's looking weak! Almost there!" and actually slaying it.
