Fellas let's be honest is anyone actually using their second weapon?
I legit choose two that I love and always just end up using my primary bwahaha I do just fine with it every hunt (sword and shield) my secondary is a lance which was my first love since world (THE FATTEST OF WET KISSESYS) but idk I also don't like how we have two weapons to swap between and how much we have to SPREAD our build to accommodate for the actual usage of both i guess? just me spit ballin thinkin of why ME personally am not touching it:praisesun:

Sure. It would be boring using always the same weapon.

And the baby chicks I am teaching right now, if they do not use a second weapon at all - I encourage them all to bring along sword & shield with a guard up jewel and divine blessing embedded.

That way they can learn a monster more easily while observing, and that even protects them from Jin Dahaads ultimate if they run out of Farcasters and ice blocks.

Personally i like the whole second weapon on the mount system.
I 100% mained a single weapon in world/rise and it was ok, but now ive picked up a new one for wilds and its nice to be able to swap between them mid fight.

I use a paralyze hammer and a gunlance, i open with hammer get the quick 2x knockout 2x para procs then swap over to gunlance to finish the fight once hammer CC has all been used up.
Works really well and its quite abit more fun/varied than just running a single weapon the whole time.

To me the devs simply overthought the idea of two weapons, splitting up Decos and such. If you want to play SnS and Bow, you need damage for SnS and stamina for Bow, but you can't have that anyway, so what's the point?
i use it to merge weapon loadout, like bow and db, cb and gunlance and of course the cool kid loadout swx and hammer
Yes lol funny enough I often swapped between 2 status weapons.

And in end game I could even use 2 hunting horns with differing buffs, you can que up 3 songs and store the horn and when you draw it again you'll be able to play them instantly store them and swap back to main HH

Also when I was using gunlance I could use a crit draw or other Lance, then swap to a guard Lance for example, or a different shelling type. You just aren't seeing the potential!
Two elementals for multi-hunts, blunt+slicing, extra weapon for range..

So yeah, sure.

I am, yeah.
Nope, and here is why, when we first got a look at the '2 weapons' system. I kind of thought that it would mean that skills and armours would be set up so new meta's would be centred around balance between both weapons, and then best weapon pairings was key, i.e, going full glass canon melee build with LS and Duel blades pairing, or Slugger with Horn and hammer etc. Could have even went as far as to add some combo weapon changer moves in to allow mid combat weapon switching without the need to ride Birdie.
A nice combo breaker action for example.

No, just because i dont like how its handled, in a fight you have no choice but to mount your horse and then it will change weapons, thats just stupid and ruins the flow of the fight.
If it was handled differen like your palico gives you your second weapon it would be much nicer.
That said, even then i prolly would just forgot to use the second one anyways.

Gunlance, with another gunlance, fresh charges.
SNS support with Sleep HBG
Sleep GS with Para Lance if it's extra aggressive.

Not much, if i'm in the Forest looking for Crowns i'm using G.Rath SnS cause everything except Duna and the Raths have a Fire Weakness.
Most of the time i'm running with the Gore one. :steamhappy:
Depends on what weapon I'm playing. Since I mostly play Hunting Horn, I take a secondary Horn with different Songs. Queen Chordmaker is a great back-up Horn.

Yes, but it feels less necessary when you can just warp to a camp whenever you want.

You could do this in rise and world as well lol preset loadouts meant you could swap weapons and gear, all you need for "instant" is fairly easy to make farcaster. Not sure why you would lol unless the goal was like tail cut then swap to hammer.

Regardless not having to stop the flow and swap when you can do it between zones isn't to bad.

I like being able to swap from para sns to damage sns
