Blocking his laser beam and charging through it with shield up to stab him in the face with a gunlance. Only other Monster that gives me that is Nu Udra.

The armor have certain appeal.

He used to be much harder. Laser beams did more damage and wider blast wave. Like, instant cart if you get hit once, no matter how high your Fire resistance is. He also used to be MUCH bigger.

I like fighting him cause he looks and fights dopey, Dark Souls fat rolling all over the place.... He's just way too cute. Best chonky boi from the classics.

If you think he's too easy, try fighting two at once. Throw in a Rathalos for good measure.

Also it's fun to block the Gravios laser with Lance shield and take 0 damage from it.

Back when Monster Hunter games offered any real challenge, and weapon bounces were actually a thing, Gravios was slow, easy to avoid, however you had to hit just the right spots, or actually use a weapon such as hammer that was good at breaking through defences. Team composition was a thing with people actually planning out what to take. Now, weapon bouncing is just a joke, Gravios is stomped with any weapon or armour combo, just like every other monster, however it's also just as slow as it was, meaning it's absolutely no threat to anyone.

In other games I hated gravios. I nthis game? They fckn nailed him and is actually a very enjoyable fight.

Fight him in other games and all he does is charges :P

spectacle does a lot for me in terms of enjoying a fight, even if it's mechanically not the most interesting thing in the world if i think the monster has good aesthetics i'll probably end up finding it more memorable. gravios has that iconic beam, but i'm a pretty big fan of huge, lumbering, bulky type designs and gravios is basically the king of that kind of stuff. i think the way they revamped him visually in this game is also a huge improvement, he looks really good here.

also i just think it's funny that basarios and gravios are separated AGAIN for seemingly no reason lol.
