Why are so many players getting mad at Capturing the monster???
I've been seeing a lot of posts about players getting angry when they SOS and someone captures the monster.

This is only my 5th monster hunter game, so maybe there is something I don't know, but doesn't capturing give more rewards than killing?

Is there a specific type of award that can only be gained by killing? I always figured that capturing was faster and lower risk than killing.

If we are fighting a tempered monster and we have 2 carts, you can bet your behind that I will try to capture that monster instead of risking game over.

People who know what they are doing capture, don't worry about a few cry babies on steam forums, they don't matter.

Capturing has been balanced so it does not give more rewards anymore (it looks like more simply because it's accounting for the fact that you can't carve the monster). Capturing gives DIFFERENT rewards from killing, and that might be where the anger is coming from. Not really something worth really getting mad over, imo, but people do be people :P

the odds of different items changes depending on carve/cap, so it can be annoying for some random person to capture when you are trying to carve.
because the large influx of new players are scummy kids that think you are soft if you capture !

Capture > kill. You can get gore feelers from capture.

capping also just feels so anticlimactic. That combined with having to restock trapping mats every single hunt is mainly why I just don't bother with capping ever. Also I play GS, so who am I to deny myself a beautiful wakeup hit?

I do admit, I'm terrible at restocking barrel bombs, so I can't imagine I'd be any better at restocking traps or tranq bombs either. XD

playing item box crafting simulator after every hunt is why I have a general dislike for ranged weapons as well. Honestly it's why i'm glad the basic ammo (normal/pierce/spread) work the way they do here where they're infinite and their strength is dependent on the bowgun you're using

Does Wilds not have loadouts?
At this point I think you get the same quantity of rewards from capturing and carving, the only difference is whether people have the capture pro food skill or the master carver food skill, which gives you more rewards. The item tables it picks from are different too, of course. Some people are doing it as well because there's an achievement for getting 50 captured monsters. Also, when hunting tempered monsters, the material rewards are irrelevant as people only want the weapon parts or decorations. Capturing simply ends the quest sooner, so you get those fixed rewards faster.
The posts on the steam discussion forums are either trolling or just being intentionally rude. You're better off not replying or even reading those posts. People need to remember to not feed the trolls. I haven't seen anyone go out of their way to be rude in game about capturing.
I think the slay vs capture debate is pretty dumb. yes, they have different loot, but at the same time, hunts are pretty short and the rarest items usually have 1-2 quests in the SOS tab that have a guaranteed drop.

First thing I did was buy 1k of every ammo type. you really don't need to craft unless you're doing an elemental build and want to squeeze out as much damage as possible during a hunt. In the tent? never.

It does, so you absolutely can and should just load a loadout with all your traps, potions, whatever. Although, the materials to make traps are oddly scarce on the maps so it can be a bit of a pain to collect them before you unlock material gathering for them (and rest a bunch so the gathering actually happens...)

Supposedly the "kill x of y" titles requires specifically kills but I haven't confirmed.

because they are retarded. There is nothing special you get from capturing versus slaying. it is just to get the mission done faster. Youre dealing with casuals who want to find something to whine about in an already easy game.
