if you use LS you probably didn't noticed cause LS makes every monster look generic, but playing with GS or SA against this thing is wow... aids.. just aids .. pure aids.

What can I say? We octopi stick together. On a more serious note, he's a really fun fight once you learn his move set, and is on my top 5 favorite monster list. Back in LR when you first fight him, Ebony Odogaron before him is pretty much practice for Xu Wu. At least that's how I see it anyway.

Why, does it suddenly get dangerous in high rank or something? I haven't found the HR version, yet. I just know that the one you fight in the story was a complete pushover with SA.

The thing barely even attacked, all you had to do was walk behind it and wail on it like a training dummy. It was literally the easiest fight I had in Low Rank.

found this fight underwhelmingly easy given the design and lore, not understanding the struggle? everything he does is slow and/or predictable except for when he zips across the map to... slowly ready another very telegraphed stab that's easy to avoid.

Sorry but it has to be said. Skill. Issue. I love fighting it with greatsword its a cakewalk and I always cut off most of the tentacles. GS > LS if you are good.

That huge slowpoke takoyaki weakspots are all over the place so any fast weapons'll be a walk in the park.

It's one of the easiest monsters with predictable patterns and very low HP.

I can handle Xu Wu with great sword. But for some reason still have trouble with Yian Kut-Ku.

i hated the squid bosses, they raise their arms as if they are about to attack.. then do nothing (???)
and they can also suddenly spin/aoe attack in the blink of an eye with no warning
i much prefer the wyvern and beast or even spider bosses. the squids were miserable to fight

One thing ive noticed is...Some weapons match better against certain monsters. Good thing is the Hunter has options as to which tool to bring to the hunt.
