This cannot be forged or upgraded yet?

Why is it that i cannot make certain weapons yet even though i have the requirded amount of supplies. At the moment at HR5, but can't even make a Balahara sword&shield which is rank 1, but i can make a Ajarakan sword&shield which is rank 2 i believe. Same for the switch axe. Do i need to progress even further into the story to eventually make these lower rank weapons to upgrade them further in the future?

Make the "base weapons" before it, ie theres a REALLY faint line connecting weapon trees, meaning there's something prior to Balahara's weapon tree

Edit: judging from the faint line, you need to have Hope Sword II unlocked prior to making Balahara's SnS

Those weapons are upgraded from other weapons, look at the weapon tree, see the lines linking them together?
Those are prerequisites.

often you will need to randomly make some bone/ore weapons that will upgrade into monster weapons. Just cause you have the monster parts isnt enough you need the base weapon to upgrade too.

yes its silly and a new player trap.
Yes they really should just give you a full breakdown of all the total mats you need when selecting a weapon and let you just craft it and everything leading to it instead of having to manually craft its 4 prerequisites.

Some lines are TOO faint.
The two games prior to MH Wilds had distinct lines indicating the connection of weapon trees.

No idea who thought "Yeah, let's use this really faint line that no one can really see to make people confused"

Do note: i deleted my first 5 hour character due to thinking it was a bug and found out the second I got back to Lala Barina's SnS

It's pretty visible to me, perhaps take a look at your brightness settings, you may be straining your sight fellow hunter!

They are super faint for me too.
Bad UI design.
They also seem to stand out more if you know they are there and are looking for them.

Just hit over to the forge tab list so you don't get that tree. You can see that way in plain lettering what you can craft. Then there is an upgrade tab as well so what you have that is capable of being upgraded. Wishlist them and you'll be notified when you can craft them.
There are pre-requisites. Maybe the lines are invisible for you or something, but sometimes you need to craft an ore tree weapon to make the first of the balahara tree weapon or something like that.

You should check the ones im talking about.
Its not the "straight down the line" ones, its the Bone, Iron, and Expedition ones
