High Temperature on every Setting
Hello,
unfortunately, I'm having issues with the temperature while playing Monster Hunter Wilds. No matter what settings I use or what frame generation options I choose, my GPU temperature is always over 80°C.

The game runs smoothly even on maximum settings in WQHD at 60 FPS and, of course, on minimum settings as well. However, the temperature remains the same, and my PC turns into an oven. Are there any possible solutions for this?

My system:

Windows 11
RTX 3090
i7 11th Gen @ 3.67 GHz
32GB DDR4 RAM
NVMe SSD

3090 is a very hot card just undervolt or powerlimit it
Do you have a case that looks like a glass window the new stupid design trend. https://www.newegg.com/p/3D5-006C-00001

DO NOT Undervolt 1.1V is the happy place for your card

The only solution is not to play, or play on a potato if you want to reduce your energy bills. 80°C is perfectly fine.

Start with setting frame cap to 30 as described in tip #9 here

and get MSI Afterburner, set the fan speed to maximum all the time

Check for the temperature and slowly raise the cap in intervalls of 30 until you hit a good point for you - you can do that in addition with undervolting or before

80C for 3090 is normal =) also you should see my 4090 hit 100C and double sided liquid cooling it will make you have heart attack.

This game does stress my hardware more than most other games, which makes hardware run hotter. Just gonna throw this out there tho - it may coincide with your PC needing a dusting off ? I don't run -this- hot while playing wilds. ;p

Okay, my PC is unfortunately super loud and gets extremely hot. I'm worried that over time, the components will wear out. Like I said, most other games run totally smooth at 60FPS with max settings around 60°C. My PC sounds completely relaxed, and I'm relaxed too.

But this game just won’t let me get below the 80°C mark, no matter whether I lower the resolution, set maximum performance in frame generation, or turn everything down to minimum details. There’s barely a 3°C difference, which makes it really strange.

My PC is almost dust-free, I clean it regularly. I really value my PC because it was insanely expensive for a hobby.

Share a screenshot of your FPS cap

Open your case while playing, if the temps drops, then its an airflow problem. Not game related

There is nothing to worry about. If this is your max temperature, then this means that everything is working as intended.

Also it seems that this game engine in Wilds is not well optimized or the engine is at its limits, so it is keeping our hardware more bussy than it should. But if the thermal flow in your PC is sound (which it sounds it is), then nothing will break or wear out. Depending on your fans it may get just loud. Mine does too :)
