What is going on in this forum?
Everyone wants to block/ban each other.

I thought the Monster Hunter community was really united and friendly, it's why I decided to give the series a try (and loved it enough to 100% achievements Wilds).

But all I'm seeing lately is hate, negativity, and rage. Is this the true face of the MH Community or is it just Steam Discussions being Steam Discussions?

In general, gaming has gotten more toxic in recent years and beyond the more cultural things, it has more or less devolved into this and them thinking where people feel entitled to their own experience (They they personally define) and anything that evenly remotely challenges this is a bad thing.

Its a thought process present in almost every comment, from complaining that a game is too short over admitting they consumed it too quickly, or calling out people for playing certain ways.

At the very least this is how most steam forums feel. Im sure its true elsewhere.

In all honesty the reception to this game has made me come to hate the fandom.

It used to be so wholesome. Even on other platforms like Reddit there is the hate and toxicity seeping in. I'm so over it. It used to be among the best fandoms out there but ever since World there's been nothing but crying and outrage with every. Single. Release.

Yes, even for MH World, which is considered so amazing and so awesome now. The same complaints about difficulty were there, and there was much ado about scoutflies and the franchise "losing its soul" because pickaxes no longer broke on you and whetstones no longer had to be sourced.
Have you even seen gamefaq forums when Tri was released witht he mediocre amount of content and underwater combat?

You jump around and mention things completely unrelated to the topic.
I am pretty sure I quoted someone and that was perfectly on topic.

It still is. Steam community is ♥♥♥♥.
The people losing their ♥♥♥♥ here aren't monster hunter fans. ;p

Well this is my last warning to you to stop messing with me across a bunch of topics.

To stop stalking my profile and to stop copying my posts from across tons of topics.

Most obvious troll ever.

And you wonder why hardcore fans are so annoyed. It's because casuals farm the ♥♥♥♥ out of us over these topics. I've tried to be nice to you.

I've told you a billion fricking times that you can't convince the core fanbase that the games haven't gotten easier.

And the point of this topic is about how toxic people have become. and look at you literally proving the point. You don't say your points reasonably. Just farming reactions.

まあどうでもいいや。モンハントライが発売したころは多分。。。自分が大学生の頃だったと思うけど。

They have gotten easier, 100%, since world. This game is giving me about the same level of trouble world did, and is way easier than MHFU, which I played the most. #opinion
I don't think it's a bad thing, game would still be easy for me, and it would be harder to get into for new players. Am also older and unwilling to dunk 2000 hours like I did on mhfu. ;p

Well, wilds IS lacking in many areas but some hardcore Fans want to deny that with all their being. Those tend to get toxic.

As others have said, gaming is just more toxic now. And the Steam Forums have capitalized on that in the worst way possible.

Steam award system actively encourages this kind of overly dramatic and exaggerated discussion. People can now get points for rewards to decorate their profiles if they go on discussion forums and make a fool of themselves or others. On the opposite end, people can also earn points by being overly positive and snarky to people who have genuine concerns.

TL;DR - Steam awards have turned genuine discussion opportunities into a farmable resource, and the best way to farm points is to just generally be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to everybody.

I am not 100% sure about Steam awards. I understand and see what you mean, but I do not feel them like encouraging toxic behaviour.

At least I myself do not aim to get awards for such but the opposite - and I reward quality content accordingly generously with awards to show someone did good.

The usage of the jester award has become a problem. And on top of that, for reasons I do not fully understand people managed to create a black market where Steam points are actually sold for real money.

That might be the cause of an artificial toxicity, but the users do not have to take the bait to begin with. By allowing the baiters to win, it has become out of hand.

The core gameplay in LR/HR hasnt gotten easyer simply because thats always been the case. It ever only became hard in MH1 G
Freedom Unite after HR
Tri U after Tri's content.
4u after 4's content.
XX(GU) after X's content...
IB after World's content.
SB after Rise's content.
Wild's expansion after Wilds

You proved nothing. Nothing pre title updates in modern MH (World, Rise, Wilds) is 'easyer'. It's just you became good because you played previous installments.

Same with dark souls.

Oh wow, you played all three? Guess what, do it in order of DS1-2-3-ER and you'll find out 2 is easyer, but 3 and ER changed alot of clunk and just needed adjusting, just like modern MH.

I'm an hardcore fan, and you know, every monhun game comes lacking when it gets released, then they gradually release more content, including eventually G-Rank. When it used to be harder to distribute expansions, they'd rerelease the game with the additional content, this is what MHFU is, for example. Even on MHFU there was still stuff to download, very endgame quests like fatalis and such. It worked like this on world too, it had about this level of content when it released.

Wilds is fine ;p

I can't put that many hours into a PVE game usually. 2000 hours is impressive lol

I can with PVP games like Marvel Rivals.

But as someone that puts in a couple hundred hours to see the majority of the progression content and then some extra, it'd be nice if there was still a challenge somewhere to be found.

But I digress; things aren't going to change.

I mean, honestly, could I really find challenge on mhfu ? Yes, there were harder monsters, but was I really more challenged by the game ? :P
Wilds was a fairly entertaining romp, casualer monster hunter, yes, but I have no probs with that. ;3
