Mod, Cheats and Denuvo

So what is the point of denuvo *anti tamper* when you can quite literally just install a mod and cheat away ?
Yeah yeah i know "but the pirates !!!!1111" but is that really all there is to it ?

Making the game run worse to make sure some people dont get to play for free because it does jack all to people modding away and gaining all sorts of advantages.
It doesnt even prevent you from joining other people so it does look like its just a performance brake however slight it may be.
Is this getting a fix anytime soon or is there any sort of communication or does capcom not care at all ?
Like im legitimately curious.

People rolling in here to point out that denuvo isnt an anti cheat but an anti tamper:

What is modding again ? The modding is what allows you to cheat sure but its still modifying the or tamper with the games files.

no, anti tamper protects the exe from unauthorized duplication, again, it's piracy prevention, not mod prevention

again I have no idea where this recent influx of people spouting denuvo is an anti-cheat came from. it never is and never was. it solely seeks to prevent piracy. thats the entire denuvo sales pitch. even the most staunch defenders and anti-denuvo users can both agree that denuvo has never attempted to or even hint at promising that denuvo was an anti-cheat. stop spreading this ♥♥♥♥

It says *anti tamper* and i think that a mod changing damage and/or drop values should be considered tampering.

I mean i could have been clearer initially but i also never said its an anti cheat... but here we are

It is a DRM, not an anticheat

It is never meant to prevent people from cheating. Just from copying the game willy nilly without buying.

anti tamper has nothing to do with cheats, it's not supposed to be prevent them, it's not an anti cheat, it's an anti tamper

But ya i guess its just outside the scope of it.

Its not like that mods would unlock paid cosmetics for people or anything. That has never happened before. Right ?

Obviously im making fun of denuvo.

anti tamper is copy protection, it's piracy prevention, not mod/cheat prevention, it has nothing to do with that

Yeah, you are. Because in fact, how the mods currently work, they are not tampering with the game files.

certain mods can be described as a type of "tampering", i suppose, but it's not the type of tampering denuvo anti tamper is meant to curb

The essential mod can be imagined that it works like the Nintendo Super Gameboy adapter.

Think of it like a gun. You have a default version. And if you put a scope on it, the default version itself is not changed. You just have a scope on it. And the essential mod works like the adapter for that scope.
