They were definitely longer than they are in Wilds, that is for sure. I definitely think the monsters need more health, in solo and MP in Wilds.
I can run a hunt, totally non-optimised, not using any buff items, traps, etc and still get sub 5 minute clear times solo. I could never manage that consistently in World except against the lower tier monsters within each low, high or master rank (depending on where I was in the story). Even in Rise, which is probably peak 'hunter power' due to wirebugs and silk skills, I still feel like the monsters had a lot more health.
In Wilds, I feel like I'm dropping the monsters way too fast. I've joined hunts that have been active for 4 or 5 minutes against a tempered apex monster, only for the monster to be finished as a hit the ground and it's straight to the rewards screen. In World, that just didn't happen unless you had an organised team running good builds, coordinating their actions etc.
It actually makes the fights so uninteresting

Responding to sos quests is some of the most fun i have honestly.
For example i got a build that uses kunafa armor only and divine blessing of the winds talisman with a bone 6 glaive and the doshaguma 6 Hunting horn i get two or one shotted by tempered doshaguma if i dont keep up defense L and sonic barrier i got another build with the azuz armor only so 3 pieces of armor only but its comes with heroics and maximum might with these armor its really easy to activate heroics and its a fun challenge.
Like I said, only the apex predators are taking quite a long time to kill which is a bit sad that the lower tier monsters (even if just by one star) are so much easier, they aren't even hard in terms of difficulty so it's just mashing simulator for like 3-4 minutes straight until the monster starts limping and then you just follow it, capture it and there you go, hunt done without any difficulties.
