Are stun mechanics in MHW based on adaptive difficulty?

In the Arkveld fight specifically, does anyone get randomly stunned by some of his attacks that don't even hit very hard? I am consistently getting stunned in the few hits that I might receive in each area I'm fighting him and I find that getting stunned happens more if I land offset counters/clashes/more perfect blocks.

Basically the better I'm doing in the fight, the more I get stunned on the first hit and this ONLY seems to be consistent with Arkveld. The more bad I am, like getting blown up by his aoes and flung around all the time and having to chug healing items, I hardly see any stuns at all.

i'm under the impression it's just a kind of RNG status buildup proc, most likely reason it doesn't necessarily feel consistent, not sure though

I think the same.

Sometimes an unlucky hit is all what is needed. And whether you have decorations to negate those hits or not.

It could just be placebo but I have never been stunned in this game when I'm playing poorly, so when spending more time running around chugging than landing perfect blocks and so on. I just did a few arkveld runs for the farm and in all 3 of my runs since I'm used to the fight i have been stunned on the first hit since I've gotten my openings down well. Then on my 3rd run I got hit by his explosion nuke, got back up, chugged, got hit by a Rey Dau nuke, got up, chugged, got hit by another arkveld nuke and I didn't get stunned even though that all happened in the span of like 12 seconds. Just doesn't seem to make any sense.

with ray dau he applies a status (looks like a lightning bolt) that makes it much, much easier to get stunned. that's a big part of it

No what i'm saying is I *didn't* get stunned even though I ate up like 3 nukes in a short period of time and one of them was from a rey dau in a turf war, but I have been consistently stunned on the first hit, from arkveld, usually not even from a hard hitting attack, on all 3 of my arkveld runs. that's what i'm saying
