Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds

After 2 weeks, I'm out of stuff to do
I have a billion of every monster part.
I have meta builds for every weapon.
I've killed every monster countless times.
I'm bored. After 2 weeks.

We're getting Mizu in the next update. Wow. And then what? We farm that for a week and get a billion of those monster parts and maybe a new meta build for each weapon, hopefully?

The game has nothing to keep me going. I'm going back to World, I think.

I saw somewhere that people will optimise the fun out of any game, does anyone play this game because they like hunting monsters?
Video games are not, and have never been, fun.

World had one more monster than Wilds on release (30 vs. 29).
The endgame of base World was exactly the same as current Wilds, kill the same 3 or 4 monsters to farm decorations, period.

You could make the exact same arguments for base World when it released.

By the end of the base content I had plenty of monster materials, different builds for every weapon I played, killed every monster countless times, and then I had to wait until they released Deviljho in the first content update to get new things to do.

And Rise was in the exact same boat.

You pretty much no-lifed the game for 2 weeks and you expect the game to have new things released just because you already finished what was already there.

I don't know about you, but I would be hard pressed to find a game that has a lot of things to do after 120 hours that is not an open world RPG.

Circling back, MHWilds improved nothing over world despite taking 8 years to release. It somehow has a worse UI and overall less user friendly experience. I could write a dissertation on the 200-500% menu actions required to complete the most basic of tasks in the game

• the absurd targeting overlay/lack of mouse support for the map
• the map that you can't open because the world is constantly giving you popups
• the destructible camp system thats nothing but screenspam and no one cares
• numerous separate menus 3-4 buttons apart for managing gear/lack of box
• lack of actual mouseover support for decorations with stupid 2-3 button waste
• inability to change name for crafted gear so your box is full of duplicate weapon
• item pickup to stash prompts that block your screen for 3 actions
• radial menu controls rather than real keybinds for PC
• buying items to stash while having a separate menu for buying items to character (rather than any remotely modern system that applies to char inventory then stash if full)

I can drop a bulleted list for 2 floors of scrolling or more, and that's before the dumbed down and reduced launch content.

The overall menu and action/button bloat throughout this game is the worst I've seen in 30+ years of gaming. This UI should be a term paper breakdown for college students on how NOT to design their software.

Can you solo tempered monsters without palico or SOS?

I love this cycle of hate of new MH game everyime.

I cant wait for the same people complaining about MH wilds in few years time when a new game comes out say "I am not playing MH (Insert random name) cause there is nothing to do here, I am going back to wilds where i have 500 hours and still have things to do"
Yeah this didn't happen with Rise:Sunbreak. Nobody's going back to that game.
Wilds better come up with something good, soon.

You actually had to fight GOOD monsters to get decorations. Many of them. Not just the same 3 to 5 monsters, only 1 of which is a GOOD fight.

"to get decorations" - you mean the same thing you have now in wilds /facepalm

"Not just the same 3 to 5 monsters" - you mean Teostra, Nirgg, Kushal - for gear (thoe i prefered Veel as a fight then Kushal in base game)

You really have no idea about the launch World content.
I literally binge played launch World content.

You didn't actually make a point here. You some crap which isn't true and then made an accusation, which is easily not true. I installed World on day 1 and played nothing but World for 6 months.
It's the age old question: Do I play the game at launch when there are the most other people playing, but the least to do, or wait until everything is released but no one else is playing.

Because THAT is the standard of Monster Hunter game we should expect.

One day you'll grow up and realize everyone has different tastes, and that there is no hive mind, no singular consciousness. And your life will be much more pleasant, because then you'll just do what you want to do, when you want to do it, and move on to the next thing when something no longer makes you happy.

You'll also be mature enough to simply voice your displeasure about a game out loud in your room, then log out and play something else, instead of going to a forum where fans of the game hang out, airing your displeasure in an attempt to affect their mood, and to find company in your misery.

Or you won't grow up, you won't mature. That's the sad ending.
Child who thinks he's "mature" thinks he should regulate the internet.

Show me the forum where criticism should go then, superstar.
It's because there's no challenge. After 80 hours I have carted maybe half a dozen times, and never failed a mission once. I don't mean that as a brag, I'm not a particularly skilled hunter. But it used to be that your incentive to tweak your build and improve your stuff was "maybe it will finally give me the boost I need to be able to beat Furious Rajang" or something. Or "I need a good sticky bowgun so I can fight Kirin" or "I want a good fire weapon so I stand a chance against Frostfang Barioth," that kind of thing. Right now because everything's so easy, nothing actually feels rewarding.

To be fair he has a point and I also feel disapointed with the endgame.
- There is only one 8 Stars monster so, If you want to farm the best weapons/gems in the game you will be hunting only arkveld over and over, which its quite boring to me even if i made builds for 4 weapons to obliterate it.

-The hunts are waaaay quicker now since we have a lot of mobility/tools to do a HUGE amount of dps with EVERY weapon. So they feel way less challenging and makes it feel even more boring.

- I remember having my fun doing secondary quests when I completed my MH World / Rise game, there was a decent amount of them and you feel how useful they were because the rewards like better cooking, better item farming and unlocking new mantles. All of that feel ereased in MH Wilds. Even if there is a few of them, It only took me a few hours to do all of them.

- The camp decoration its boring asf on this game, I LOVED to capture creatures and then placing them inside my room.

-This is not content, but the plus of being able to see the monsters you captured on the base and, from time to time, quests for hunting them in arena.

-There is NO arena on this game. Not at all. Either no frenesi attacks (which where more or less the equal on RISE)

So yeah, In comparasion to World (Which I feel its the right game to compare with) this game lacks of content in a lot of ways.

What?

Each Decoration had a different chance of dropping from different monsters. So depending on which build you were optimizing, you had to farm entirely different monster pools. So you actually had to fight all of the monsters if you wanted a variety of builds.

You have no idea what you're talking about. It's not even close to the same thing.

I take it some of you guys just never play games with a beginning and an end. Just think you can buy a game and be able to play it forever and complain when you can't.
I think you may have got your moneys worth out of the game, plus more.
Imagine thinking that 35EUR per week is the new standard of gaming value.

We get it, you don't have a job. Normal people are still making their way through High Rank.
I love this.

I love that you think I don't have a job just because I can also play games.

I like hunting monsters. I just don't like hunting the monsters in Wilds because it's boring (except Arkie and Nu) but you can only hunt the same monsters so many times.

World has much better monster fights, undeniably.

Just another "You play the game too much."

This is not an argument for why Wilds is good.
