Veteran hunters, what was your first hard 'wall' and how did you overcome it?
I have a bit of a cycle with MH games, I can fumble about the village quests just fine.
Then I move onto Hub quest and get skill issued at hub rank 6 or 7 every game.
Then I grind for a bit attempting to overcome said skill issue, and get burnt out.
I would like to overcome this skill issue of mine but I'm not entirely sure how.

Yeah, Tigrex was really really bad. I remember the hitboxes being something.
Undisputed king of zoomies.

Alatreon from mh world
Varudius 14 de mar. às 11:50
First wall was Alatreon in Tri, upgraded my Gear and fought him over and over till he was done - i was so Proud of myself.

Second Wall was Nergigante in World, had the best Gear and the best Weapon but no real chance cause he was different than every monster i fought in my MH career, took me weeks to finally Kill him for the first time. :steamhappy:

Have not hit a wall yet so far seems like you can just slide every thing to death with the swords and shield might as well have auto game play like the mount i know story = tutorial but other games where not this easy this far into the game

MHWorld was not like this just the first area carted me more than i can count

I always find it weird when people get walled by things I find abnormally easy. Maybe even too easy. The most egregious case is probably Khezu. At least the GU version, but to some extent the 4U and Rise versions. I fought over 30 Khezu in GU and only got hit 4 times in total. I had to be REALLY sloppy and complacent to even take a single hit from him and it was probably the first time I genuinely thought they should have buffed his moveset and actually made him worth hunting.... BUT apparently Blademasters actually found him difficult. It was similar with Gravios... and funnily enough Gravios is still the easiest monster for me to hunt in Wilds too. I can pretty much flinch-lock him to death. Even the Tempered one.
But yeah... Nergigante was one of those for me. Easiest Elder Dragon in World. Sometimes I'd just go into his bedroom to bully him for a laugh because he didn't pose any threat whatsoever to my Bow. It wasn't even until the Ruiner Nergigante version in Iceborne that he began to even be capable of hitting me regularly.

Thats rude and super evil to do. :O

Played Bow too, but i was more focused on the Dragonpiercer instead of the Side-Step-Spread Meta. :steamhappy:

Alatreon... I didn't overcome it.
Then Fatalis... I didn't overcome it even more.

If mhfu, HR tigrex for sure. I didn't overcome it either. Probably the reason why i stopped playing, because without a team it wasn't fun at all. Solo duo hr tigrex? No thanks.
Older MH games were a lot clunkier to play. The trick was to not attack at all and learn to dodge all the monsters hits, then when you felt comfortable, add some attacks in.

Eventually, you'll add all the attacks in and it'll die.
I remember being careful with tigrex - i ran out of time.
Dreadliane 14 de mar. às 12:24
The only wall I can remember is a quest called 4 Horns or something like that to kill 2 black diablos. Tried late into the night with my friend and I kept trying even after he went to bed and eventually beat it solo.

Monster Hunter Freedom on Psp was my entry and been playing all Monster Hunter games since.

Tigrex has to be an inside joke with the developers at this point, seems to be the only universally hated monster to fight against, molten tigrex even worse.

Heck, they even made him a PITA to fight in MHS 2 with way high speed stats and way too many turns to attack lol

I struggle with monsters that have the zommies even in the village quests sometimes, unless it's something big and lumbering like Zinogre. Something that actually moves fast fast I lose track of very easily [glares at the bat boi narga even tho he's my favorite monster design]

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite - Black Diablos in Arena
Nukesnipe 14 de mar. às 13:23
My first big wall was Khezu in Freedom Unite. I don't remember why, but it just walled me really freaking hard. I went out and grinded Vespoid armor and the fire sword and shield to beat it, and felt like God when I finally did.

I played on ps2 Monster Hunter but did so bad and knew so little I didn't get IN to the series until then as well. That was before NPCs told you who they were, how to launch a quest, that you COULD combine items or that there was a blacksmith on the 1 spaghetti western style street you had in town xD
I don't wanna say how long it took me as a kid to figure out how to even leave town.

Well yeah the thing was like a double-♥♥♥♥ Pikachu. Being far away meant you only had to walk slightly to the side when he did his electric ball thing on the ground toward you.

In this day? Just SOS. SOS and watch the other hunters while trying not to die and you'll pick up any differences in what y'all are doing. Previously you were also fighting wildly different stat sheets too. If you launched a "hub" (old multiplayer ad-hoc style) quest it had like quadruple health regardless of whether you had allies or not and that was the only way to fight certain monsters. Not so now.
Shift 14 de mar. às 13:35
Very first PS2 game? A bullfango was enough to make me work for it.
Freedom Unite it was Nargacuga.
P3rd I somehow got into a few issues with qurupeco, then on 3U it was Savage Jho.
Gen U it was bloodbath diablos, don't ask me how.
World it was only a mild wall at Alatreon.

Honorable mentions: Plesioth hip check.
