Favorite Monster(s) in the Series.

I've seen too much hate, complaints, whining, crying, and so on and so forth for too long in this comment section. And since no one else will do anything about it. It falls onto me.

So I am making this thread as a beacon of positivity to shine bright in the Discussions.

So, what are people's Favorite Monster(s) and why?

Mine are Mizutsune and both Vaal Hazak and Blackveil Vaal Hazak.

Mizutsune because I am a dog person and like Axolotls and it looks like an Axolotl Fox. I find it to be the most cutest Monster, and wish you could tame it and make it your companion over the Felines, Dogs, and Chocobo Knockoffs. And best yet, they glide on soap and use bubbles to attack, which is so very unique and different than every other monster which is just elemental blasts, or jets of elements shooting out. It's truly a cute and unique Monster to enjoy interacting with.

Vaal Hazak and Blackveil Vaal Hazak.

This one is much more simple. I have a also have a love for the dark, the grim, the evil. And thanks to World, I view Vaal Hazak as a symbol for the Death, the Grim Reaper, the "Rot" and "Decay" forces of nature. Unlike all other Elder Dragons in World, Rise, and the "Sudo Elders" in Wilds, Vaal Hazak is the only one that ACTUALLY feels like a "Force of Nature".

It isn't just "It's too strong and thus we label it a Elder Dragon" like most Elder Dragons are. They SAY a lot about Elder Dragons, that they are "World Ending" and "Forces of Nature" but Vaal Hazak is the only one that ACTUALLY feels like it fits the Description. That is exists, and comes from Nature, a true force of nature, like a living embodiment of a concept of nature in the form of a creature.

The other only Monster that even comes CLOSE to this, is Deviljho, the embodiment of Hunger, Starvation, and Survival of the Fittest. Except Deviljho isn't considered an Elder Dragon for some reason, even tho it can destroy entire nations and kill entire biomes just by existing as it eats non-stop forever.

Anyways I love Mizutsune for the visuals and fun, but I love Vaal Hazak for the concepts and themes along with the bad ass visuals.

So how about you guys? What is/are your favorite Monster(s) in the series and tell us why.

Gore Magala/Shagaru Magala: I started in 4U and their design/lore/presence sealed them as my favorite Demi-Elder/Elder Dragon (Chaotic Gore is tragically awesome too).

Nargacuga + variants: I love it's armor skills and it's fight, cry, and design are just so awesome.

The Rath Pair+Variants: they may be in every game but the Queen of the Land and King of the Skies are just amazing design wise and while their fights may seem a bit lacking, I just love fighting them.

Last, but not least, Zinogre: Nargacuga may scratch my cat lover itch, but Zinogre scratches my dog lover itch. Thunder puppy has an amazing design, roar and his fight is really predictable but he's still so much fun. Bring back Thunderlord Zinogre!

IIiif I had to pick a Top Five in no particular order:
Nergigante - I'm a huge fan of his design, being a big spiky nuissence throughout the game while being, necessary to keep -some- Elder Dragons in check. I wish we got more of that in World but he's a bit of a push over when it comes to the whole "eating elder dragon" schtick (even though he's really good at eating Alatreon). He's got some pretty cute factors like the toe beans and his sleep animations (like the little mouth quiver thing and kicking his legs while snoozing). They oddly work and I want one domesticated.

Malzeno - Aesthetically great and I generally like vampires in media. After seeing the likes of Magnamalo and missing the mark with a samarai cat, I'm a little surprised at how well Rise's team designed a vampire dragon. The mythos revolving Malzeno tolerating humanity long ago is something I find really interesting and wish there was a bit of a culture shock. Still handled better than Arkveld.

Barioth - Tri's my first game and Barioth left a big impression on me. He's the first wall in the series for me and the armour set I liked sporting around the most purely for fashion. Out of the Tigrex-likes, Barioth's my favourite. I'm also obliged to have at least one monster from my first game be in the top five.

Ahtal-Ka - Very fun and creative fight. It's pretty wild that an insect monster is the final boss of its respective game (she's still classified as a "neopteron", not an "elder dragon"), but they make it work. The mech she pilots is honestly silly but I think that's part of the fun. Ingenuity and being pragmatic is what sets her apart from other monsters; she's more akin to the hunters if anything.

Najarala - Really tough fight in 4U imo and extremely underrated monster. His design is very striking and really separates himself from the rest of the roster. Only issue with the fight is how easy it is for him to touch you and you stagger but I've been in enough parties with LS users to tolerate it. Wish Naj' was the noodle to return instead of Mizu; would've fit very well with the desert and tropical environment. Snakes are cool, too.

Personally the goofier monsters are the ones i tend to remember.
Yian kut ku with his goofy smile/ silly run and that he faceplants into the floor when he charges.
Congalala cause he is also a goof ball. The belly bounce attack is hilarious.
Anjanath cause he is a badass txrex wearing a cape then bam! He suddenly has a horn, wings AND he breathes fire now.

I like our resident angry ket Nargacuga, the jaguar sounds and tail whaps are awesome.
Plus he was the flagship of MHFU which was my first entry to the series.

For #1, I think my pfp explains which one is my favorite. As for why... It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ninja octopus. Do I really need to explain more as to why Xu Wu is my favorite? Seriously though, the design, the fight.... Xu Wu is perfect for me. Also, did you know that he straight up vores your ass if you cart against him during the grab animation? If you already carted twice, (it's pretty unlikely since he's a pretty easy fight) that actually makes that detail hit extra hard.

#2. Odogaron. One of the most fun fights, and his Ebony subspecies returned in Wilds. The quick pacing of the fight is just amazing. I love fast paced fights, which is likely why he's so high on the list. I hope we get the normal Odogaron somehow too, or at least normal Ebony, but that likely won't be until the expansion.

#3. Espinas. Bro is just asserting dominance over you by taking a nap and not giving a damn if you bonk him on the head. Oh, and he takes a big dump all over Kushala. Anything that ♥♥♥♥♥ on Kushala like that gains points from me. Oh, and when we get to Flaming Espinas he becomes even better. He's actually a walking nuke, and he blew up Teostra with one. He used a nuclear fireball to kill an Elder Dragon that's known to be immune to fire.

#4. Bazelgeuse. He's my air support, my partner. He can't distinguish friend from foe, so it is a bit dicey at times, but I have mastered the art of dodging his carpet bombing. The monsters can't say the same and he completely demolishes them. Unlike most people, I don't dung pod him, I give him a high five.

#5. Shagaru Magala. Fought him the first time in Rise, and I loved him ever since. Given how Gore is in the game already, he's sure to make his appearance sooner or later. Probably the latter, like in the final few TU so that his weapons are some of the best out there. His fight is just a lot of fun, it's difficult to put it into words as I feel like I can't do it justice with mere words.

Malzeno - his story arc and design are awesome, an unstoppable regal looking vampire dragon that can legit teleport and kicks your a$$ who also used to be a guardian now corrupt fighting you and himself at the same time. Awesome

Alatreon - he kicked my ass many times before I got the hang of him and actually made me rage but I didn't give up and it turned into my most enjoyable fight, also the fact he can command multiple elements at once and requires you to come prepared to face him. Escaton judgement. Awesome

Nergi - Just an angry spikey boi who eats elders for breakfast and hates that you challenge him so much he will literally break off his own body parts and shoot them at you to kill you. With one of best visual designs who also keeps the balance in check. Awesome

Gore - He's edgelord of MH and I love him, he is quick, unrelenting, often times unpredictable, multiple phases, has so much influence on the world and ecosystem wherever he appears and he's just a blind baby at that. Awesome.

Alatreon, becouse i could speedfarm it in MH Tri, my first game in this series and my first multiplayer game <3 <3 <3

Fatalis in Iceborn, becouse it was my first encounter with him.

Why i love both? Well still to this date, their hunts in MH Iceborn are fun and thrill to me.

I can't claim to be an old fan of the series, starting from world. Although I've since went and played few older titles. So the pool I draw my favs is limited.
Pickle. Nuff said. It's big, it's green, and it's hungry. The best turf wars. I can't wait for jho to come to Wilds. I want to see him pick up balahara like a wet noodle and flop it around.
Bazel. Similar story. It's just so characterful, and so very very angry. Repeatedly you'll be thinking "chill, bro". But there is no chill. You'll hear an unmistakable roar in the distance, an omen of carpet bombing that is coming your way. I love Bazel just crashing the party and making it all about him.
Frosfang Barioth. It was just such an excellently designed fight in IB. It's fast, it hits brutally hard, but it was fair.
Lala Barina. New addition to the roster, but I absolutely love the design. The way it moves is so creepy. Just wish the actual fight provided a little bit more challenge so there was an incentive to revisit it from time to time.
Nergigante. My favorite elder. Elder killer. An extinction beast. I love everything about that fight. It's like being locked in a phone booth with a rabid porcupine. It's visceral and relentless. Love the look, the sound design. Nerg feels like an absolute unhinged animal.
Namielle. Mostly due to exceptional visual design. Good fight, but the looks take the crown here. Who would've thought that jellyfish themed dragon could look so elegant and intimidating all at once.
Edit. I totally forgot Odogaron, I should've. He's just animated so well. Slowly pacing around then lashing out at you with that tail. And going complete berserk when he is raging. Out of all the monsters his moves feel the most animalistic.
