I do not think it is weird. It is a nice touch after Monster Hunter Rise. I think she does not need to have appear so soon again after that, in favour of a newer monster - but still a nice touch, considering Monster Hunter Wilds has so much fanservice to begin.
And especially after Monster Hunter Rise she would have felt misplaced to begin with in the ecosystem - but with the story ending the gates are now open for new species from all across the world to come and rise.
That is unexpected. I certainly did not recognised it as leviathan. More like a bandworm.
What you're all missing is the "strength" system with the purple stars. It's night and day fighting one at 1 vs 5. 5 star tempered rathalos is a legit fight and they might do somth with mizu. Better yet, they could make a Guardian version the end game version of the fight (could even do the same with Kulu)
Now I am sad. Najarala is one of my most favourite monsters in the series.
You do realize that all Mizutsune we see in game are males right?
