If i add slugger to my skills, is there any chance that the lances autobash after a block will stun a monster?
I know it does stun damage as it has a sparkle effect every time it autobashes or i do a focus strike on a wound on the monsters face.

Just not sure if it will ever get to the threshold of stunning a monster or not

That's not how it works. Let's say your bash does 30 stun damage. The monster need 500 to be stunned, and "heals" 1 stun damage per second. You need to do 30 damage enough times to cross that 500 damage threshold. After that the amount needed will increase to something like 800, and then 1100.

In rise, slugger effects shield bash or when lance uses shield. Don't know if Wilds lance with slugger work.

Yeah but doesnt slugger increase the amount of stun damage i do? So far ive never been able to stun a monster during normal play, just curious if it might be possible with that extra stun damage

the base stun value is just really low for lance moves, it's not worth bothering

Bugger. Thanks for letting me know. Was hoping that maybe i was just short on stun value to proc it but this sounds like even with it it probably wouldnt happen

it would eventually if you were REALLY stubborn about it but that's a lot of work to get a stun when you can just play normally and attack monster wounds and parts to get topples
Stun builds up over time like paralysis and sleep do. Stuns are not accomplished by excessive burst damage. You have to do a certain amount of stun damage (also known as posture damage in a lot of other games) over time before the monster is stunned. There are a number of modifiers like weapon type, weapon attack, where monster is hit, was it a successful parry/offset, etc but fundamentally the stun mechanic is something that naturally builds up over the fight. Using Slugger just increases the amount of "posture" damage that is done per hit. There are two things to keep note of though. Each subsequent stun requires more and more stun damage to reach the threshold. Also, the amount of built up stun damage will decay after a set amount of time if no additional stun damage is dealt. The lance is a slower weapon that does little posture damage so it can be hard to actually proc the stun.

TL;DR Slugger just makes it so each of your hits does more stun damage than they would normally making it easier to reach stun thresholds. It doesn't make your attacks suddenly start stunning monsters when they couldn't previously.

That's because the damage "depletes" over time. You'd have to dedicate to applying it. Furthermore, stun only applies when you strike the monster's head. Hence why hammers skullbonk.

Its a bugger, when i saw that they added an autobash that did stun damage inwas hopeful i might be able to lean into it for an extra topple
Yes, slugger would "work" on Lance's shield bash. No, its not worth using deco slots on.
