Why do people get mad when DPS is posted?
Are you upset that your incompetence is being pointed out?

EDIT:
It seems to me that the biggest gripe with posting DPS is the fact that most players get very upset if they're not #1

Not everyone has a DPS build. It's perfectly acceptable to have low DPS, but getting upset over that is petty and immature.

Edit2: Insulting someone for having low DPS is completely unacceptable. That is not what this post is about. I was talking about POSTING damage numbers, not being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about them. Major difference.

Monster Hunter community just clashes greatly. In the past, DPS and DPS metres weren't even considered that much, really. So older players clash with the newer players whom are seemingly obsessed with DPS, damage and clear times.
Older players are the ones who care about DPS, simply because they dont want a grind. New players are the ones against it.

Is a DPS meter even against TOS? Wouldnt it just be reading data, not modifying it?
It's exactly that, it's basically just number crunching in an automated form. If a player counted all four players' damage numbers and added them together, and posted the math in less than a fraction of a second, that's suddenly not cheating.
Right so its not cheating anyway its just a calculator

As many others have said, did we ask for it to be posted?

Are we competing for world 1st [MONSTER NAME HERE] kill?

Did anyone other than you need reason to stroke yourself off to 'being the best'?

Just like in WoW; if I didn't ask for it, I don't need to see it. If you go around posting a DPS meter, appearing like some min-maxing twit, you'll earn a block and - if possible - a report.

This is a PvE game for fun. If I want to sweat over parsing, I'll head to WoW or FF14.

I could understand on something like Alateron, but posting dps numbers in Wilds right now is irrelevant. What is there to be proud about?

how you able to keep track of dps when every other swing hits like 7 parts?

You posted this thread because you rage quit a hunt with me when you tried to yell at the hunting horn main who saved your life repeatedly and I pointed out I did triple your damage.

Calm down, bro.
OP has been awfully quiet after this post. Well done.
Another one? Geez... by now these threads are just flamebait threads. Easy ones too.

Its pretty much just Worldcel elitism.

Plus others get jelly when you do more damage than them.

How do you have only 189 games on Steam on a 20 year old account? Are you living in great poverty? Its OK if you are, just wondering since many of us have thousands of games and you have so few....
Evensong 13. mars kl. 21.17
Nah, just a case of who asked.

Plus honestly, if you gonna sweat, go sweat over something thats actually competitive. Its like sprinting down the public sidewalk and bragging about how much faster you are then the couple casually walking around, just pathetic lmao.
NoRa_G 13. mars kl. 21.21
Because sweats are miserable and want to make everything into a stupid little wiener contest over nothing, and can't just let go and have fun. It's a non-competitive game, I don't care who did most damage, I only care that we get there together. Warmth and joy, not dps and arguments.

This is why everyone leaves you
Renka 13. mars kl. 21.30
showing the result of a dps meter in any game that dont natively support it to random people..... is fully toxic and it should be a instant ban unless it was not intentional, i'm only talking about games in general

also it do not matter is a game is competitive or not, anyway you should feel even more ashamed to show it to others in a game like monster hunter

just use it for yourself and be quiet
