Why do people get mad when DPS is posted?
Are you upset that your incompetence is being pointed out?

EDIT:
It seems to me that the biggest gripe with posting DPS is the fact that most players get very upset if they're not #1

Not everyone has a DPS build. It's perfectly acceptable to have low DPS, but getting upset over that is petty and immature.

Edit2: Insulting someone for having low DPS is completely unacceptable. That is not what this post is about. I was talking about POSTING damage numbers, not being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about them. Major difference.

Because it's pointless in MH. Getting downs is irreverent if you don't get a full set of breaks, slices and carves from it. If you just kill over and over you'll get three carves per run and that's it. Take the time to break all the parts, slice the tail and pop the wounds with the weapons that do it, keep the monster locked down with a hammer all before nabbing it with a trap\tranq and you'll be finished with that monster in 2-4 hunts. A DPS chaser will have to kill way, way more and ironically, take way, way longer.

It's also not an MMO so no one cares.
so someone does something "Pointless" and you get angry about it?
I still don't understand where the problem is.

Not angry, just dissapointed. It's like you're posting it to brag - and of course you are because otherwise you wouldn't post and you'd just look at it on your own screen and go "huh" and then move on.

But to me, it's like you're bragging that you don't actually know how to play the game. Because DPS meters are for your eyes only. If you post it, you involve everyone else in your stroking contest, and anyone who actually knows how to play MH rolls their eyes at you and will continue to do so when you're on your 20th GM run trying to target-hunt a single drop and they're fully kitted out with 2-3 weapons from it.

DPS is kind of pointless in a MH game. Every game has different weapon balance. For example HBG outshines everything in Iceborne. I'm sure Wilds has it's own "broken" weapon/s.

OP got carted twice and cried about hunting horn main not doing enough DPS. Dude is a tool.

is it though?

Yes it is, this is not ranked.
we'd be less upset if you didn't get carted while you're doing it. damage isn't important not carting is.
I don't get mad, but don't expect any respect out of it as there's no reason to believe the person who post damage numbers haven't gone the extra mile and modded their damage numbers to pretend they're good at the game. 9 ou 10 when I came upon these people, they also had crap like a 3000 damage GS.
I don't care either way but lets not bs only reason you would post it is to flex on someone and flexing on someone in this baby MH against pinatas in HR is cringe af lol
Well, this is an entertaining ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
I don't get upset, but it is super cringe to see someone start a pissing contest when nobody gives a ♥♥♥♥. Not to mention it's always posted as the lamest as ♥♥♥♥ bragging point or just to make someone else feel like ♥♥♥♥ for no reason, it serves no purpose unless you're in a group where everyone is on the same wave length of tryharding.

You wanna be competitive, join a group specifically with that mindset or go to a game that's designed for it, MH is a game that does not benefit from dps meters nor the toxic mindset that a chunk of the users tend to bring.
nobody likes unprompted 'advice' especially when it amounts to just saying 'hey you're not doing that great' with no other input. How else do you expect people to react to antagonism? And let's not delude ourselves, that exactly what unsolicited parser numbers are, especially if they aren't accompanied by real advice.
This is monster hunter, not WoW.

Id install damage meters if they weren't so difficult to do, solely cause whenever my mate and i play and something breaks we always say "i did that" and then I'd have proof that it was in fact me, that did that
all you need is reframework and it'd drag and drop from there
Does this mod also tell me when the monster is capturable? Getting sick of fighting arkveld, going to a new area and fighting it for 15 seconds only for the skull symbol to turn up and it flies away again.

If it gets rid of that last fly away it'd be worth it

Oh bugger, was hoping that it might have been capturable before the skull icon turns up. Oh well
It is a form of cheating in monster hunter specifically
