Dragon / Electric
i personally prefer blast or dragon

Fire/Dragon/Thunder

Blast would be another but i haven't touched blast as much.

Paralyze.

Sleep.

Gives people a chance to sharpen weapons, place bomb barrels, heal, buff, etc.
Shocking number of people saying dragon, which is weird in wilds particularly. Blast bois for life.
i don't use elements i use status aligments.

sleep and paralyze are my go to. since i use charge blade and sns.
sleep lets my charge blade spank harder. paralyze lets me spam sns attacks like crazy without needing to block.

There's often no "best" but most people would encourage you to go down Dragon because while very few monsters are vulnerable to it, even less are resistant to it.

It means outside of a few outliers it's very, very consistent. Now if that remains consistent throughout Wild's life has yet to be seen, but it's a good rule of thumb.

Paralyze is very good, but I think the most versatile is Dragon.

Dragon element is effective against every big endgame monster.

Paralysis seems pretty strong in this game. Playing with the Lala Barina SnS on a full squad with only me using Paralysis, I usually manage around 3 afflictions per hunt. WIth a full squad of Para weapons it's probably insanity.
just go blast/dragon. Fire could be good too if you want to farm gore. Ice is the most useless right now. Thunder doesn't have good DB beside artian. water is useful mid game. Para Db is actually good too

sleep is insanely overpowered in this game. you can pop off 3-4 sleep procs a hunt.

If you want an element specifically, probably dragon. However, if we're including statuses, then paralyze is the best out of anything imo.

Yeah I do have 3 Paralyzes withing a 4 Minute Hunt, so on Average 1 every Minute or so. Thats 10secs of more pummeling besides the Monster being stuned, downed or sleeped. So much more comfortable than killing it maybe 20secs faster.

Yeah, but I feel sleep loses DPS in the long run since only 1 source of damage is doubled when the monster is sleeping. A monster being paralyzed means all the team gets to hit the crap out of it for whoever many seconds the monster is afflicted. Also sleep is harder to control, since people might be mid combo, and you might waste the double damage you would get from sleep on someone not being able to stop a combo in time.
