Yes, I'm aware of the always visible cheat sheet for the Hunting horn, that's not what I'm asking about. I like how good the HH plays in this game (although I still need to regain the muscle memory of how to do the combos) but I have a couple of questions.

1: Would it be crazy to have my Main Weapon be an Offense HH and my Secondary weapon be a Support/Defense Hunting Horn? Or Should I use something else to cover what the HH can't?

2: Even WITH the cheat sheet, I'm fairly guilty of just spamming the combos all willy nilly. And I have only gotten Echo Bubble to work Once on the horn that I'm using now (Hope Horn 2).

No its not crazy to have 2 horns since you don't get the fall off of your songs like with other weapons. if anything your getting more out of having 2. By fall off i mean like if you have HM1 or HM2 for song length. if you swap to another weapon you immediately lose the self buff and everything goes down to HM0 however this does not happen with another HH.

As for spamming combo's everything comes with muscle memory and time and which HH's you end up using the most. so while yes like you said there is a cheat sheet that you can see you'll have to get used to it yourself.

1. Yea you could do something like that. Something that I do and it seems others do this as well is to use the Arkveld HH as the secondary. You open the fight with your primary, apply the buffs you want from it and then swap to the Arkveld. Arkveld has a melody called "Extend All Melodies" which also applies to the buffs from the other horn so as long as you're weaving that song in, your initial buffs won't ever run out.

2. Not much I can say on this. The more you get used to the Hunting Horn you'll get better at actually making songs while you fight rather than just doing random inputs.

2: I played HH quite a bit in Rise and it plays similarly here in Wild so I kind of know how to doot, but getting the muscle memory back is going to be a journey, I haven't played MH Seriously since I got burned out on Rise a few years ago.

What Are Some good HH's to bring as a primary since Arkveld will likely end up being my secondary once I have access to it? I'm still very early in game so I don't have access to many weapons right now.

Some common ones I've seen are Gore's for the Earplugs/Affinity, Rathian's Chordmaker for the Recovery L (Though the Attack Up buff is redundant because Arkveld's has it), or you can use Artian ones for Defense Up / Elemental Resistances / Divine Protection.

It's really up to you which buffs you would like the most. I really love Earplugs so I run Gore's and the affinity is a little bonus for the team.

Since you're still early I wouldn't worry too much about which horns have which buffs. Just find something that you like early on to get you through the game first.

use the horn as a secondary lmao

step 1: hit head
step 2:hit them within your field skill
step 3: play that funky music white boy
I'm using the HH as my primary weapon so I can change the secondary. Of course I always choose a ammo/slash type to cover the other types of damage.
The best part is to always have buffs for you and your party/teamate.
As far that I know, the only buff that go away when you switch the HH for another weapon is the self-improvement.

This weapon is pretty solid on this game, although Capcom never go wrong with this beauty.
