Just that, in the fifth gen, how status ailments affect the monster changed (everyone inflicting the ailment separately instead of together).
But yeah, status weapons can be stupidly strong
I suspect they've either nerfed or removed that resistance buff monsters got against effects they'd already had, so it's easier (and therefore more common) if you're using an effect weapon to trigger the status two or three times in the same hunt, whereas in previous entries once you'd triggered it once it was unlikely you'd get time to trigger it again.
Coz even stupid deer on Ice Cliffs rams into Magala and paralyze it lol
They definitely haven't removed it since Offset Counters is treated like a condition to knock monsters down, and in the patch that dropped Tuesday, they straight up addressed one of the monsters (believe it is Rey Dau) getting stunned too easily because it wasn't building status resistance like its supposed to.
