R1 sheathing weapon during combat / combos using Chargeblade

I have auto sheath off but that's basically the only option I can see.
I just have no idea what to do to stop this.

R1 = Dash = Sheath. Just don't hit R1, or play with Focus Mode toggled on.

R1 sheathes, that's what it does, that's it's purpose, the reason it exists, it's destiny is to sheathe your weapon

Technically. X/Square sheaths, R1/RB dashes. World+ games just made it so you sheath when you try to dash previous games it didn't do anything until you sheathed.

they made it able to auto sheath because that way you dont have to waste time to press the button when your about to get carted and need to use a potion, the 1.5 seconds makes a huge difference for some of us

I do have to ask, how are you accidentally hitting R1, I mean I do play with Focus Mode toggled as I find it useful on every melee weapon, but I have never accidentally Focus Striked by hitting R1.

I think it came down to hitting the L2 button and R1 at the same time, but the game thinks you hit R1 first and sheaths instead of going for the crit move.

Side note. There are 3 ways to sheath on the controller. R1, L3 and Square

R1 and L3 are both "Dash" inputs though. Dash sheathing automatically is just a feature of Dash wher Square is and has always been the designated "sheath your Weapon" button since the first game.
